Description
The Samson SRD 77 ‘SmartRoll’ is an aluminium, double skinned, insulated, electric roller garage door, which has enhanced smart control with programmable scenarios but also control from one or multiple smartphones. Fully compliant with UK regulations on the use of remote control, electric operated doors.. A bottom edge safety sensor is fitted on the roller door curtain for detection of obstacles when closing, along with an infrared beam obstacle detection to comply with the use and operation of smart electric doors, able to be operated from anywhere in the world if required.
2 remote handsets are provided as standard with every door, from the Somfy Keygo range using the future proof IO protocol technology. The internal Somfy Rollixo premium wall control panel coordinates the transmitter and receiver signals for the handsets, but also for other IO access control systems if required.
The Rollixo control panel has a built in alarm system to alert when the door is attacked when closed. There is also a courtesy light on the panel which is programmable for the time it stays on after the door is operated.
As a bonus you also get a Somfy wireless, wall mounted, button control switch for placement anywhere to assist you with door operation internally and within radio range.
Total Smart Control
Included as standard with this door is the Somfy Tahoma Switch kit to allow control of the door using a smartphone app, provided free by Somfy. You can connect multiple smartphones to this door to allow family and others access to your garage.

Samson SRD77 SmartRoll insulated roller doors are manufactured in the UK by the leading garage door manufacturer SWS/AlluGuard. Many decades of manufacturing experience ensure only the highest quality materials, development and production techniques are used, whilst the simplified design helps keep costs as competitive as possible. Samson Doors work with an extensive range of roller shutters used for security and doors alike. High quality and reliability are our key motives in any electric roller shutter for peace of mind and minimal issues for anyone to be concerned about.
Made to measure sizes up to a maximum width of 5200mm including the guides either side. Maximum height is 2900mm plus the height of the roll and endplates which is 300mm. The side channel guides are either 70mm or 90mm depending on the door width ordered.
Doors over 3000mm wide will always have 90mm guides as standard, so the clear opening width will be 180mm less than the ordering width.
The door curtain is available in 18 premium and high quality powdercoated colours with optional half or full hood in a matching colour. If you require a contrasting hood or guides colour please call or email for details and pricing.
The door also has an internal manual winding handle system to operate in the event of a power failure. If you don’t have a separate pedestrian access to your garage you should look at the Semi Auto Button control model to operate the door from outside and inside. With this roller door model you can order an external key switch for door operation externally but also have internal controls. We would also suggest you order the external manual low level release in case of a power failure if you have no other means of access.
Application
No Hood, Half Hood or Full Hood?
This door is supplied as standard with no hood cover and if you are installing fully behind your opening then it isn’t really necessary but you will see the curtain roll from the inside when rolled up and fully open.
The Half and Full hood will both provide a fascia for when you either don’t have sufficient headroom to fully hide the roll or when installing underneath the garage lintel when the whole curtain roll would be exposed from outside.
A full hood will assist in better weather protection and draughts overall.
External Key Switch
A surface wall mounted steel housing key switch for operating the door with a key if required rather than having the remote handset with you.
External Low Level Emergency Manual Override
A winding linkage to connect to the inside override system and provide a means of manually operating the door from the outside in a power failure.
Digital Wall Mounted Keypad
Operate your roller garage door using a coded keypad for external access with security.

Certificate of Guarantee
1.1. The following guarantees applies to the Samson SRD77 roller garage doors, subject to correct installation, maintenance and operation:
1.1.1. Samson SRD77 roller garage doors are guaranteed against defect of material or workmanship by the manufacturer with a parts only warranty for a period of 2 years from the date of original purchase.
1.1.2. Samson SRD77 roller garage doors' exterior finish is guaranteed to provide an effective weatherproof membrane that will resist perforation of the substrate from the weather side due to corrosion for a period of 2 years from the date of purchase.
1.1.3. Externally fitted reverse roll Samson SRD77 roller garage doors will resist perforation of the substrate from the weather side due to corrosion for a period of 2 years from the date of purchase. Colour change or fade to the exterior surface will be limited and uniform during the guarantee.
1.1.4. Samson SRD77 motors and the Genesis, Teleco Simple and C10 control units are guaranteed for a period of 2 years from the date of purchase.
1.1.5. Somfy motors and the Rollixo control unit are guaranteed for a period of 5 years from the date of purchase.
1.2. This guarantee is in addition to your legal rights in addition to the manufacturers products that may be faulty or not as described. Advice about your legal rights is available from your local Citizens’ Advice Bureau or Trading Standards Office.
1.3. The following terms apply to all Samson SRD77 roller garage doors purchased for installation in the UK. The terms shall prevail or be in addition to any agreement between you, the customer, the installer and/or the manufacturer.
1.4. The manufacturer will replace any components of our products sold as Samson SRD77 roller garage doors (‘the Product’) where the manufacturing process has resulted in a defect occurring during the relevant period specified in the Conditions of Guarantee.
Measure
Ordering sizes for this roller garage door are the Over Guide Width (OGW) x Guide Height (GH) dimensions NOT including the endplates and curtain roll - see image below.
Doors have 75mm wide guides for sizes up to 3000mm wide
Over 3000mm wide the guides are 90mm wide either side
Clear Opening Width = Ordering Size - 150mm* for doors up to 3000mmm wide and then over 3000mm the Ordering Size -180mm for doors up to 5200mm wide
* These measurements are correct for behind fit installations, please contact us for guidance for inbetween fit installations. You will need a half hood or full hood when fitting inbetween and underneath the lintel. Also allow tolerances for the fitting in the ordering dimensions.
Clear Opening Height = Guide Height - 50mm (to allow for the bottom slat hand-down into the guides). The 300mm endplates, incorporating the motor and barrel are to be added onto the guide height to give your total height required (Overall Height).
