Description

SeceuroDoor 75 Continental Industrial Roller Shutter (240V Tube Motor)

The SeceuroDoor 75 Continental is a high quality, low to medium use commercial roller shutter door featuring a 'Continental' build style and powered by a reliable single phase 240V electric tube motor. Designed for simplicity and neat aesthetics, this door is an excellent choice for commercial or industrial openings where usage is infrequent but security and clean lines are essential.

The 'Continental' build specification connects the endplates directly to the side guides, creating a completely flush outer edge from top to bottom. This integrated design makes the shutter ideal for 'in-between' installations within an opening, as well as face-fixed applications, offering a tidier finish compared to traditional industrial shutter layouts.

Motor and Operation

Operated by a single phase 240V electric tube motor, this shutter is designed for straightforward, user-friendly control. The motor is neatly integrated inside the roller barrel, remaining completely hidden from view with only the limit settings and power cabling visible. This design protects the mechanism while maintaining a clean appearance.

Electric tube motors are rated for low to medium usage, typically suitable for 10 - 20 operations per day. They are not recommended for high-intensity traffic or extremely large openings where higher pulling forces are required. For added peace of mind, an internal manual override facility is included as standard. This system features an under-curtain exit for a winding handle, integrated on the same side as the motor, allowing the door to be manually operated from inside in the event of a power failure.

Curtain Construction and Materials

The curtain is constructed from a strong single skin galvanised steel profile with a 75 mm slat height. This model is supplied with a 22 gauge (0.7 mm) steel curtain as standard, providing a robust physical barrier suitable for medium security applications. Heavier 20 gauge (0.9 mm) and 18 gauge options are available for projects requiring enhanced strength (POA).

Important Warranty Conditions

The SeceuroDoor warranty covers parts only and does not cover labour costs or consequential costs. This includes but is not limited to call-out fees, transport costs and costs for remedial work for removing and/or re-installing faulty parts. All warranty claims must be reported promptly to allow for timely assessment and resolution.

Product Care Requirements

To maintain warranty validity and prolong the life of your SeceuroDoor product, correct operation and care in accordance with the official Operating & Maintenance Manual is essential. Regular maintenance includes wiping with a damp cloth and mild detergent to remove excessive dirt and grime, ensuring the floor is kept smooth, level and clear of dirt and debris which can damage the rubber seal, and conducting visual inspections to identify any issues before they develop into major problems.

Coastal Installation Requirements

Products installed in coastal environments or high-corrosion areas require enhanced maintenance protocols. Regular cleaning of products in locations within 2 miles of the sea is especially important. Doors should be cleaned thoroughly weekly using warm water and mild detergent with a soft cloth or sponge, allowed to dry naturally. Never use strong detergent, abrasive, caustic or solvent-based cleaners as these will void the warranty.

Visual Quality Assessment Standards

We recommend performing a visual quality check on installation. Carry out the quality check in natural daylight, not direct sunlight. Stand at a distance of 3 metres from the product to view the overall appearance. The product is acceptable if, taking into account the manufacturing process, none of the following is readily visible on the face of the product: marks or distortions associated with the manufacturing process, minor indentations, marks or scuffs on the surface, or paint or stain blemishes.

Measure

Measuring Guide for SeceuroDoor 75 Roller Shutters

Understanding Ordering Dimensions

The measuring, pricing and ordering dimensions for any electric roller shutter door with an electric tube motor drive are based on the OVERALL WIDTH and OVERALL HEIGHT, including the guides for the width and endplates for the height. This measurement principle applies regardless of whether the door is a Continental or Traditional build arrangement.

Key Measurement Rules:

  • OVERALL WIDTH (including guides) = Ordering Width
  • OVERALL HEIGHT (including endplates) = Ordering Height

See diagrams below for visual reference.

Continental vs Traditional Build Differences

The Traditional build roller door arrangement uses heavier duty steel guides with steel angle sections in the setup, whereas the Continental build roller doors use aluminium guides. Traditional build doors can generally accommodate larger sizes and offer more adaptation options with the guides and track fixing angles, particularly useful when dealing with more challenging installation scenarios.

Both door build types have the guides, endplate and optional roll hood cover fitted within the dimensions of the external endplate dimensions.

Important Height Considerations

The endplate and hood cover size will vary depending on the height of the door, so please be aware to check the drive-through height and endplate size if your dimensions are critical. Always allow for the physical size of the rolled curtain and endplate assembly when calculating available headroom.

Installation Methods

Face Fit - Behind the Opening

Most roller shutter doors are installed to the inside face of the aperture. In a perfect scenario, your daylight opening dimensions are the space between the guides and underneath the endplate dimensions. However, it is important to note that any roller shutter will always have a 'hang down' when opened fully, making the final drive-through height slightly less than the height of the guides.

This hang down is normal and varies on different models depending on the curtain specification and roll size. If your opening drive-through height is critical, please speak to us first to determine the best height to order for your specific application.

Reveal Fit - Between the Opening

Some roller shutter doors are installed between the aperture opening (reveal fit), and this is where the electric tube motor roller door arrangement works particularly well, as all components are positioned inboard from the ordering dimensions, creating a neat flush finish.

You can install any roller shutter door between an opening, but please note that industrial motor-driven models may require some additional steelwork or sub-framing to make them fit between the reveal properly and securely.
