Description

SeceuroDoor 75 Traditional Industrial Roller Shutter (240V GfA Motor)

SeceuroDoor roller shutter doors represent the very best in quality and performance, offering doors for almost any application from a wide range of models available as standard. The Traditional build specification combined with a high-performance GfA 240V single phase industrial electric motor creates a door package that will cover most commercial and industrial applications in the UK where high speed or insulation is not required.

This is a low to medium use, high quality, industrial 'Traditional' build roller shutter door, featuring a robust 22 gauge (0.7 mm) galvanised steel curtain and powered by a single phase 240V external-mounted chain drive industrial GfA motor for reliable electric operation. The Traditional build employs heavy-duty steel guides, steel track angles and steel endplates, providing a versatile and robust solution suitable for a wide range of fixing arrangements and site conditions.

GfA Industrial Motor Excellence

GfA manufacture the very best industrial door motors, incorporating leading-edge technology and excellent, reliable access control options. The single phase 240V motor drive is ideal for medium usage openings with average daily use, typically up to 50-80 operations per day. While they do not have the higher duty cycle ratings of three phase motor drives, 240V industrial motors offer the perfect balance of performance, cost-effectiveness and ease of installation for the majority of commercial applications.

The external-mounted chain drive configuration positions the motor outside the roller barrel, providing easier access for maintenance and servicing while delivering consistent, powerful operation even on larger door sizes.

Construction and Materials

22 Gauge Steel Curtain (Standard)

This model is supplied with a strong single skin galvanised steel profile in 22 gauge (0.7 mm) thickness, weighing approximately 10 kg/m². The 75 mm scrolled slat design provides excellent strength and durability for medium security office, commercial and industrial applications, while maintaining a compact roll diameter for efficient use of headroom.

Alternative Gauge Options

For enhanced security or larger openings, the door is also available in heavier gauge options:

  • 20 gauge (0.9 mm): Increased rigidity and impact resistance, weighing approx. 12 kg/m²
  • 18 gauge (1.2 mm): Maximum strength for high-security applications, weighing approx. 16.7 kg/m² (POA)

Finish and Colour Options

As standard, the curtain and steel guides are supplied in a durable galvanised steel finish for superior corrosion resistance. For projects requiring colour matching or corporate branding, the shutter can be powder coated to any RAL or BS colour. A large choice of standard colours is available for quick turnaround, with custom colours available subject to quotation and lead time.

In addition to powder coating, a range of plastisol finish colours is also available, offering a thick, textured coating with excellent durability in demanding outdoor environments.

Pedestrian Wicket Door Option

For added convenience, a pedestrian wicket door can be integrated into the curtain, providing easy pedestrian access without opening the full shutter, saving time, energy costs and reducing wear on the motor. Wicket doors are available on Traditional and Industrial SeceuroDoor 75 models in a choice of two sizes:

  • Standard: 560 mm x 1605 mm
  • Euro: 800 mm x 1830 mm

Wicket doors are supplied powder coated to match the curtain as standard. On galvanised shutters, the wicket door is supplied powder coated in RAL 9006 in a satin finish. On motor-operated shutters, an electrical interlock is recommended to prevent the shutter from being operated when the wicket door is open, ensuring safe operation.

Alternative Operation Option

Manual Spring and Lock

Where power is not available for electric operation, or the shutter will not be opened very often, a manual spring and lock version is available as an alternative. This solution uses a counterbalanced torsion spring system with a bottom rail lock for secure manual operation. Please note: this manual option is not available for shutters over 2.8 m tall due to weight and safe handling limitations.

Specification

SeceuroDoor 75 Traditional (240V GfA Motor) Specification

Curtain Construction and Gauge Options

The standard build uses a 22 gauge (0.7 mm) galvanised steel single skin curtain, available in various colour finish options. This gauge provides an excellent balance of strength, weight and cost-effectiveness for most medium-security commercial and industrial applications.

For larger or higher openings, or where a slightly stronger and thicker gauge steel slat is required, 20 gauge (0.9 mm) is available to order through our online shop. The heavier 20 gauge option provides increased rigidity, enhanced impact resistance and reduced deflection on wider spans.

Finish and Colour Options

The SeceuroDoor 75 Traditional curtain is available in three primary finish types to suit aesthetic requirements, environmental conditions and budget:

Galvanised Steel (Standard)

As standard and used by many customers, depending on the roller door location and application, you can have the steel curtain supplied in its natural galvanised steel finish. This hot-dipped zinc coating provides superior corrosion resistance and protection from weathering, making it ideal for industrial environments where function is the priority.

Powder Coated

For corporate branding or architectural integration, the curtain can be polyester powder coated to almost any RAL or BS colour. This process provides a durable, high-quality finish that is applied to both sides of the slat, ensuring the door looks the same from the inside and outside. A wide range of standard colours is available for rapid turnaround.

Plastisol Coated

A high-performance 200 micron textured vinyl coating available in a range of standard colours. This finish offers excellent weather resistance, impact resistance and long-term durability in demanding outdoor environments. Please note that Plastisol material typically features the coloured finish on the external face only, with a standard off-white internal primer finish.

Custom Colour Options

We can offer the door in special colours other than those shown in our online shop options. You can also mix and match the guides, hood cover and curtain colours if required to achieve the desired aesthetic. Please email enquiries@samsondoors.co.uk or call 01933 448 850 for details and bespoke pricing.

Control Options

The electric chain drive 240V GfA motor can be controlled by various methods, allowing you to select the best balance of convenience, safety and cost for your specific application:

1. Hold-to-Run (Deadman) Control – Basic

The most basic and cost-effective method is an internal wall-mounted push button station with hold-to-run logic. You stand and hold the button firmly for the duration of the opening or closing cycle. With this method, no safety edge or beam systems are legally required, keeping the costs to a minimum and electrical components simple.

Note: This method requires alternative access to the building (e.g., a personnel door) as the control is internal and the operator must have full visual contact with the door during operation.

2. Impulse Control with Safety Edge

The second option is a wall-mounted control panel which can be programmed to operate in impulse mode. You simply push the up or down button momentarily and the door will automatically operate through its full cycle. This system includes a wireless safety edge detection system built into the bottom T-rail section, which instantly stops the door if an obstacle is encountered during operation.

3. Remote Control Operation with Safety Edge

The third option provides the same impulse operation and safety edge system as option 2, but with the addition of wireless remote control handsets for maximum convenience. This package includes:

  • Control Panel: Wall-mounted GfA TS control panel with integrated receiver
  • Handsets: Supplied with 2 remote control handsets as standard (additional handsets available on request)
  • Safety Edge System: Wireless safety edge detection built into the bottom T-rail to prevent closure onto obstacles
  • Additional Safety (Recommended): If the door is adjacent to any public pathway, road or high-traffic area, we strongly recommend adding infra-red photo beams to further enhance safety by detecting obstructions before contact is made

Quality and Compliance

All SeceuroDoor products are:

  • CE or UKCA marked: Purchasing any product for commercial use requires full compliance with UK regulations. Approved LPCB products are also available for insurance-rated applications.
  • UK Manufactured: Proudly manufactured within an ISO9001 and ISO14001 certified UK company, ensuring consistent quality management and environmental performance.
  • Made to Measure: Every door is made to measure as standard for a perfect fit at no extra charge, avoiding the compromises of stock-sized shutters.
  • Premium Components: Using the highest quality components and electric motor drives from trusted brands like GfA for the best overall package with the most reliable operation.

All warranty claims must be reported promptly to allow for timely assessment and resolution.

Product Care Requirements

To maintain warranty validity and prolong the life of your SeceuroDoor product, correct operation and care in accordance with the official Operating & Maintenance Manual is essential. Regular maintenance includes wiping with a damp cloth and mild detergent to remove excessive dirt and grime, ensuring the floor is kept smooth, level and clear of dirt and debris which can damage the rubber seal, and conducting visual inspections to identify any issues before they develop into major problems.

Coastal Installation Requirements

Products installed in coastal environments or high-corrosion areas require enhanced maintenance protocols. Regular cleaning of products in locations within 2 miles of the sea is especially important. Doors should be cleaned thoroughly weekly using warm water and mild detergent with a soft cloth or sponge, allowed to dry naturally. Never use strong detergent, abrasive, caustic or solvent-based cleaners as these will void the warranty.

Visual Quality Assessment Standards

We recommend performing a visual quality check on installation. Carry out the quality check in natural daylight, not direct sunlight. Stand at a distance of 3 metres from the product to view the overall appearance. The product is acceptable if, taking into account the manufacturing process, none of the following is readily visible on the face of the product: marks or distortions associated with the manufacturing process, minor indentations, marks or scuffs on the surface, or paint or stain blemishes.

Measure

Measuring Guide for SeceuroDoor 75 Traditional (Industrial Motor)

Understanding Ordering Dimensions

The measuring, pricing and ordering dimensions for any electric roller shutter door with an industrial electric motor drive are based on the OPENING WIDTH and GUIDE HEIGHT, excluding the guides for the width and endplates for the height. This measurement principle applies regardless of whether it is a single phase or three phase electric motor system.

Key Measurement Rules:

  • OPENING WIDTH (between guides) = Ordering Width
  • GUIDE HEIGHT (endplates excluded) = Ordering Height

See measuring diagram below for visual reference.

Traditional Build Installation Considerations

The Traditional build roller shutter door uses heavy-duty steel guides and steel angle profiles for installation, which can all be specified to suit different installation requirements and fixing configurations. This flexibility makes the Traditional build ideal for challenging or non-standard openings.

Overall Width at Endplate Level

The overall width at high level where the endplates are fitted will be wider than the overall guide width, and can be wider still depending on the choice of inboard or outboard motor setup.

The electric motor side with an outboard motor configuration requires more side room than the non-motor side at endplate level. Chain drive or direct drive motor choice will also vary the width required for the motor assembly.

Manual Override Access

The emergency manual override included as standard is positioned on the same side as the motor internally and is accessed directly underneath the endplate. Other positions may be available on request to suit specific site conditions.

Endplate Size Variations

The endplate size will vary depending on the door model and height, and therefore the size of the curtain roll when fully opened and rolled up. Please be aware to check the drive-through height and endplate dimensions if your headroom is critical.

Installation Methods

Face Fit - Behind the Opening (Recommended for Traditional Build Industrial Doors)

Most industrial roller shutter doors are installed to the inside face of the aperture. In a perfect scenario, your daylight opening dimensions are the space between the guides and underneath the endplate dimensions. However, it is important to note that any roller shutter will always have a 'hang down' when opened fully, making the final drive-through height slightly less than the height of the guides.

This hang down is normal and varies on different models depending on the curtain specification and roll diameter. If your opening drive-through height is critical, please speak to us first to determine the best height to order for your specific application.

Reveal Fit - Between the Opening

Some roller shutter doors are installed between the aperture opening (reveal fit), and this is where the electric tube motor roller door arrangement works particularly well, as all components are positioned inboard from the ordering dimensions.

You can install any roller shutter door between an opening, but please note that industrial motor-driven models require some additional steelwork or sub-framing to make them fit between the reveal properly and securely. The Traditional build's adaptable steel guide and angle system makes this easier to achieve than with fixed Continental-style arrangements.
