SeceuroDoor 75 Traditional Industrial Roller Shutter (3-Phase)
The SeceuroDoor 75 Traditional is a robust industrial roller shutter door designed for reliability in commercial and industrial environments. This specific model features a high-performance 3-phase direct drive electric motor and a durable 22 swg gauge single skin galvanised steel curtain (non-insulated). It is an ideal solution for factories, workshops, and warehouses where frequent operation and industrial-grade strength are required.
Built for industrial applications, the direct drive motor system eliminates the need for counterbalance springs, reducing long-term maintenance needs while providing consistent power. An emergency manual override is included as standard, with access positioned underneath the endplate on the motor side (viewed looking at the endplate side of the shutter). Other override positions may be available on request to suit specific site conditions.
Traditional Build Specification
The 'Traditional' build specification distinguishes this door from 'Continental' style shutters by utilizing heavy-duty steel components throughout. This includes robust steel guides, steel track angles, steel endplates, and optional steel hood covers. These components allow for versatile installation arrangements, such as inset or outset fixing to suit the steelwork or masonry on site.
Crucially, the use of steel guides and angles means the door can be manufactured to larger sizes than equivalent aluminium-guided Continental models. The endplate size and optional hood cover dimensions will vary depending on the height of the door, so it is important to check the drive-through height and headroom requirements, particularly for taller openings.
Ordering Sizes and Dimensions
Important: Ordering sizes for our 'Traditional' build roller shutter doors are the actual daylight opening sizes. This is defined as the clear width in between the side guides and the clear height underneath the endplates.
Please ensure you understand that the steel guides and angles sit outside of this width, and the endplates sit above this height. For a perfect internal face fitting behind an opening, these ordering sizes are effectively the structural aperture size. However, please be aware that there is always a small 'hang down' of the bottom slat when the door is fully open, which will slightly reduce the final effective drive-through height.
Samson Doors will always provide a detailed door drawing for you to check and sign off before any manufacturing commences to ensure perfect fitment.
Performance and Limitations
This model uses a 22 swg gauge steel curtain which is suitable for widths up to approximately 5000 mm and heights up to 5000 mm. For openings higher than 5000 mm, please refer to our 20 gauge curtain model options, which offer increased rigidity and are available for heights up to 7000 mm (including the roll).

Colour and Finish Options
The SeceuroDoor commercial roller shutter offers flexible finishing options to suit both aesthetic requirements and budget. You can choose from three primary finish types:
- Galvanised Steel (Standard): The natural zinc-coated steel finish. This is the most economical and robust option, ideal for purely functional industrial applications where colour is not a priority.
- Plastisol Coated (External Face Only): A high-performance, leather-grain effect coating applied to the external face of the curtain. This provides excellent weather resistance. Note: The internal face comes in a standard primer finish (typically off-white/grey).
- Powdercoat Finish (Both Sides): A polyester powder coat paint finish applied to both sides of the lath, providing a uniform colour inside and out. Ideally suited for retail or applications where internal aesthetics matter.
Bespoke and Mixed Finishes
In addition to the standard ranges below, we can offer special non-standard colours upon request. It is also possible to "mix and match" finishes—for example, specifying different colours for the guides, hood, and curtain to create a unique visual effect. Please contact us directly for pricing on bespoke options.

Door Control and Operation
The SeceuroDoor is powered by a robust 415V 3-phase electric direct-drive motor. We offer three tiers of control logic depending on your operational needs and safety requirements:
1. Hold-to-Run (Basic)
The most cost-effective option. This system uses a simple internal wall-mounted push button station. The operator must press and physically hold the button for the entire duration of the opening or closing cycle. Because the operator is present and in control of the door movement, additional safety edges or beams are not legally required.
Note: This method requires a separate pedestrian entrance to the building, as you cannot operate the door from the outside.
2. Impulse Operation (Standard Automatic)
A more convenient option featuring a wall-mounted control panel. A single momentary press of the 'Up' or 'Down' button allows the door to fully open or close automatically ("one-touch" operation). To comply with safety regulations, this system includes a safety edge on the bottom rail, which automatically stops and reverses the door if it contacts an obstacle.
3. Remote Control Operation (Advanced)
Building on the Impulse system, this option adds radio remote capability. Supplied with two handsets as standard (additional handsets available), it offers the ultimate convenience for vehicle access. Like the Impulse system, it features full safety edge protection.
Recommendation: For doors opening onto public pathways or high-traffic areas, we strongly recommend adding infra-red safety photocells for enhanced non-contact safety.

All warranty claims must be reported promptly to allow for timely assessment and resolution.
Product Care Requirements
To maintain warranty validity and prolong the life of your SeceuroDoor product, correct operation and care in accordance with the official Operating & Maintenance Manual is essential. Regular maintenance includes wiping with a damp cloth and mild detergent to remove excessive dirt and grime, ensuring the floor is kept smooth, level and clear of dirt and debris which can damage the rubber seal, and conducting visual inspections to identify any issues before they develop into major problems.
Coastal Installation Requirements
Products installed in coastal environments or high-corrosion areas require enhanced maintenance protocols. Regular cleaning of products in locations within 2 miles of the sea is especially important. Doors should be cleaned thoroughly weekly using warm water and mild detergent with a soft cloth or sponge, allowed to dry naturally. Never use strong detergent, abrasive, caustic or solvent-based cleaners as these will void the warranty.
Visual Quality Assessment Standards
We recommend performing a visual quality check on installation. Carry out the quality check in natural daylight, not direct sunlight. Stand at a distance of 3 metres from the product to view the overall appearance. The product is acceptable if, taking into account the manufacturing process, none of the following is readily visible on the face of the product: marks or distortions associated with the manufacturing process, minor indentations, marks or scuffs on the surface, or paint or stain blemishes.

Measuring and Ordering Guide
Important: Unlike domestic roller doors, the pricing and ordering dimensions for industrial electric shutter doors are based on the Opening Width (Daylight Opening) and the Guide Height. Please read the definitions below carefully.
Ordering Width = The Daylight Opening Width (The clear distance between the guides)
Ordering Height = The Guide Height (The distance from the floor to the underside of the endplate)
1. Understanding Widths and Side Room
While the Ordering Width is measured between the guides, you must ensure you have sufficient side room for the operation mechanism at high level. The overall width at the top of the door (where the endplates and motor are fitted) will be wider than the guide width.
- Endplate Width: The mechanism extends past the guides on both sides.
- Motor Arrangement: The total width depends on whether you choose an Inboard or Outboard motor setup.
- Drive Side Clearance: An outboard electric motor requires significantly more side room than the non-motor side. This varies depending on whether a chain drive or direct drive motor is specified.
- Manual Override: The emergency manual override is standardly located on the same side as the motor, accessed directly underneath the endplate. (Alternative positions available on request).
2. Headroom and Endplates
The size of the endplates (and therefore the headroom required) is not fixed; it varies depending on the specific door model and the total height of the door. Taller doors require a larger roll of curtain, which necessitates larger endplates.
Installation Methods
Traditional build roller shutter doors use steel guides and angle profiles. These can be specified to suit different fixing locations.
Face Fit - Behind the Opening (Recommended)
This is the standard installation method for traditional industrial doors. The guides are fixed to the inside face of the wall.
- Sizing: In a perfect scenario, your Daylight Opening dimensions equal your Ordering Width (between guides) and Ordering Height (under endplate).
- Hangdown Warning: Please be aware that ALL roller shutters have a degree of 'hangdown' (the bottom slat remains visible in the opening) even when fully open. This makes the final drive-through height slightly lower than the Guide Height.
- Critical Heights: If your drive-through height is critical, please speak to us first so we can advise on the best Ordering Height to ensure full clearance.
Reveal Fit - Between the Opening
It is possible to install these doors between the structural opening (within the reveal), although this is generally better suited to tube motor doors where components are contained within the barrel.
- Challenges: Industrial motor-driven models have bulky motors and components at the ends. To fit these between an opening, additional steel work/angles are usually required to create a sub-frame.
- Width Reduction: Installing between the opening will significantly reduce your drive-through width due to the guides and motor mechanism taking up space within the aperture.
