SHUTTER CURTAIN SLATS

• Description: The SeceuroShield 60 features a double-skinned, extruded aluminum non-vented slat design. This construction provides a strong and rigid barrier, ideal for medium to higher security needs. 

• Common Use: Primarily installed for enhanced security on office buildings, commercial properties, and retail storefronts but can also be used as a roller shutter door, capable of covering open spaces

• Dimensions: Each slat has a nominal height of 55mm and a thickness of 14mm.

• Weight: The curtain of slats weighs approximately 9kg per square meter.

• Stock Colours:

  • Slats are available as standard in White (RAL9016), Black (RAL 9005), Cream (RAL 1015) and Dark Brown (RAL 8014)

  • The bottom slat is available in White (RAL9016), Black (RAL 9005), Cream (RAL 1015) and Dark Brown (RAL 8014)

SHUTTERBOX

• Construction: The shutterbox is engineered from roll-formed aluminum in two sections (top and bottom). The bottom section is designed for easy removal to facilitate installation and maintenance and is chamfered at a 45° angle on the lower edge.

• Box Ends: Die-cast aluminum endplates provide a solid assembly for the shutterbox. For larger shutters with a curtain weight of 75kg or more, zinc-plated steel endplates are used.

• Box Sizes: The size of the shutterbox is determined by the clear opening height required:

  • 205mm box: for openings up to 1595mm.

  • 250mm box: for openings up to 2750mm.

  • 300mm box: for openings up to 2900mm.

• Stock Colours: The shutterbox is available in White (RAL9016), Black (RAL 9005), Cream (RAL 1015) and Dark Brown (RAL 8014) as standard.

GUIDE RAILS

• Construction: The guide rails are made from extruded aluminum and feature an integral box section for reinforcement and straightforward fixing. They are fitted with a high-density 4mm or 7mm pile brush for quiet and smooth operation.

• Dimensions:

  • UPH 140: 60mm wide x 27mm deep (used with 205mm box only).

  • UPH 240: 75mm wide x 27mm deep (used with 250mm or 300mm box).

  • UPH 250: 90mm wide x 34mm deep (recommended for wider shutters and higher security applications, used with 250mm or 300mm box).

• Stock Colours: Guide rails come in White (RAL9016), Black (RAL 9005), Cream (RAL 1015) and Dark Brown (RAL 8014) as standard.

INSTALLATION

• Guide Rails: The number of fixings for the guide rails depends on their length: 3 fixings are required for lengths up to 1000mm, and 5 fixings for lengths up to 2000mm.

• Shutter Box: The shutterbox is secured at each end. For shutters wider than 2000mm, additional fixings are required at 1000mm centers.

• Finishing: For external installations, a silicone seal is necessary between the shutter and the building structure, applied along the top of the box and down the sides of the guide rails.

OPERATION AND CONTROL

The SeceuroShield 60 is available with either manual or electric operation.

• Spring Loaded (Manual): A counterbalance spring within the axle allows for controlled manual raising and lowering of the shutter. Security is provided by an espagnolette keylock or shoot bolts that lock into the guide rails, typically incorporated into the bottom slat. Post-installation, final adjustment of the spring loading is always necessary.

• Electric Operation: Electric operation is mandatory for shutters weighing over 25kg and is an optional upgrade for smaller shutters.

  • Operation: A tubular motor housed inside the axle powers the shutter up and down

  • Motors: The electric motors draw 240 volts and between 0.5 - 2.5 amps, depending on the shutter size. They come equipped with integral limit switches and a thermal cut-out to prevent overheating. A 2-meter cable is included for connection to mains power

  • Control: A momentary switch is used for operation, which must be held down until the shutter reaches the desired position.
    Other controls are available and the shutter can be specified with remote or smart controls primariy using Somfy control equipment. Relevant safety detection devices will be required if the shutter is remote control and over a doorway or open aperture of any kind.

  • Power Supply: A 13-amp fused spur is required for installation.

  • Manual Override: For shutters installed on exit doorways, a manual override system is recommended to allow for operation in the event of a power failure.

SeceuroShield Warranty Details

SeceuroShield products are backed by a parts-only warranty from Samson Doors and SWS UK:

• 2 years for general product components.
• 5 years for motors and controls.
• 12 months for replacement electrical parts, or the remainder of the original warranty—whichever is longer.

This warranty applies only when the product is installed, maintained, and operated according to SWS UK guidelines.

What the Warranty Covers: SWS UK will repair or replace any part found to have a manufacturing defect during the warranty period. Labour costs and other associated expenses are not included.

What the Warranty Does Not Cover:

• Labour, call-out fees, transport, or other consequential costs.
• Cosmetic marks or blemishes not visible from 3 metres in natural light.
• Damage or faults caused by:
  • Incorrect installation or failure to follow instructions.
  • Poor or improper maintenance.
  • Incorrect use or unauthorized modifications.
  • Normal wear and tear, accidental or malicious damage.
  • Impact damage, scratches, dents, or abrasions.
  • Use of non-SWS UK parts or unauthorized repairs.
  • Structural issues with mounting surfaces.
  • Attempts to reduce operating clearances.
  • External factors like extreme weather, fire, water, chemicals, or bird droppings.
  • Electrical faults or surges in the customer’s power supply.
• Rust or corrosion for products installed within 500 metres of the sea or saltwater.
• Consumables such as fuses, light bulbs, or batteries.
• Any indirect, special, or consequential loss or damage.
