Operators can choose between punched slats (providing up to 45% vision) for maximum product visibility, or perforated slats (providing 17% vision) for a diffused look that aids ventilation. For applications requiring weather protection alongside visibility, the punched slats can be backed with polycarbonate glazing to prevent wind and rain ingress while maintaining the view.

Installation & Fitting Guidelines

The SeceuroShield 38 Vision is designed for straightforward installation, making it suitable for competent tradespeople and experienced DIY enthusiasts. Each shutter is custom-manufactured to your specific dimensions and supplied with comprehensive fitting instructions tailored to your chosen operation method.

Installation Configurations
This 'built-on' shutter system is versatile and can be installed in two primary configurations:

• Face Fix: The shutter box and guides are installed onto the surface of the opening (either internally or externally). This optimises the clear opening width and height.
• Reveal Fix: The shutter is installed within the opening itself. When surveying for this method, always measure the width at the top, middle, and bottom, and work to the smallest dimension to ensure a correct fit.

Fixing Recommendations
For a secure installation, we recommend the following minimum fixing standards (as detailed in our technical documentation):

• Masonry or Wood: End plates and guide rails should be secured using at least 2 1/2" x 12s countersunk hardened screws with penny washers.
• Steel: Use at least 1" x 12s self-drilling/tapping screws.
• Shutter Box: To prevent deflection, the box housing must be secured at intervals of no more than 1 metre.

Electrical Requirements (Electric Models)
For electrically operated shutters, the motor is typically supplied with a 2.5m cable. Installation requires a connection to a 13 amp switched fused spur. Please note that while mounting the shutter can be done by a tradesperson, all permanent electrical connections must be carried out by a qualified electrician in compliance with current IEE wiring regulations.

SeceuroShield 38 Glazed Warranty Details

SeceuroShield products are backed by a parts-only warranty from Samson Doors and SWS UK:

• 2 years for general product components.
• 5 years for motors and controls.
• 12 months for replacement electrical parts, or the remainder of the original warranty—whichever is longer.

This warranty applies only when the product is installed, maintained, and operated according to SWS UK guidelines.

What the Warranty Covers: SWS UK will repair or replace any part found to have a manufacturing defect during the warranty period. Labour costs and other associated expenses are not included.

What the Warranty Does Not Cover:

• Labour, call-out fees, transport, or other consequential costs.
• Cosmetic marks or blemishes not visible from 3 metres in natural light.
• Damage or faults caused by:
  • Incorrect installation or failure to follow instructions.
  • Poor or improper maintenance.
  • Incorrect use or unauthorized modifications.
  • Normal wear and tear, accidental or malicious damage.
  • Impact damage, scratches, dents, or abrasions.
  • Use of non-SWS UK parts or unauthorized repairs.
  • Structural issues with mounting surfaces.
  • Attempts to reduce operating clearances.
  • External factors like extreme weather, fire, water, chemicals, or bird droppings.
  • Electrical faults or surges in the customer’s power supply.
• Rust or corrosion for products installed within 500 metres of the sea or saltwater.
• Consumables such as fuses, light bulbs, or batteries.
• Any indirect, special, or consequential loss or damage.
