The Trellidor Plus T900 is a premium, fully framed galvanised steel retractable security grille engineered to deliver certified physical protection for both residential and commercial properties. Independently tested and certified to LPCB Level 1 (LPS 1175: Issue 6, Cert/LPCB ref. 474b) by the London-based Loss Prevention Certification Board, the T900 represents the entry point into the official Trellidor certified security range. It is the ideal choice for homeowners, retailers, and commercial premises where a robust, independently verified physical barrier is required without the need for the higher SR2 or SR3 rated Trojan series.
Custom-made to measure for your exact structural opening, the T900 is suitable for doors, patios, passages, windows, stairways, and retail outlet counters. Neat, compact, and smooth-operating, it provides exceptional security while remaining unobtrusive and visually appealing when open.
LPCB Level 1 Certification & UK Market Relevance
In the UK security market, specifying a product with an independent LPS 1175 certification is increasingly important for both insurers and commercial property managers. The T900's LPCB Level 1 rating confirms it has been independently attack-tested by BRE Global Ltd, the UK's most respected third-party testing body. This certification gives property owners and business managers the confidence that the barrier has been rigorously assessed against a defined level of physical threat, and not simply marketed as secure without independent verification.
Advanced Construction & Engineering
The T900 is engineered with a series of purpose-built strengthening features that elevate it above standard, uncertified security grilles. Every component has been designed to resist a determined attack while ensuring day-to-day ease of use.
Structural Components
- Steel Top Track with Cover: Prevents access to the wheel assembly and corner cleat rivets, protecting the most vulnerable part of the top-hung mechanism from tampering.

InstallationThe Trellidor Plus T900 is a custom-made, fully framed retractable security grille designed to be professionally installed for smooth operation and maximum security performance. Because it is an LPCB Level 1 certified barrier, correct fitting into the structural opening is essential to ensure the grille performs as intended.
Before Installation (Site Checks)
- Confirm the structural opening: The fixing perimeter must be solid and suitable for secure anchoring (for example brickwork, blockwork, concrete, or structural steel). Avoid fixing into purely decorative finishes.
- Check the aperture is true: Measure width and height in multiple positions and work to the smallest measurement to ensure the fully framed grille fits correctly.
- Plan stacking direction: Decide which side the grille will retract to, ensuring there is adequate space for the folded stack when open.
Typical Installation Process (What Happens On Site)
- Position the fully framed grille: The frame is offered into the reveal and aligned so the unit sits square and operates freely.
- Secure the frame to the opening: Fixings are installed through the reinforced anchor plates at the wall fixing points to maximise resistance and stability.
- Fit and protect the top track: The steel top track is installed along with its protective cover, helping prevent access to the wheel assembly and key fixing points.
- Align the bottom guidance: The upright steel sill guide is set and checked so the grille runs straight, closes cleanly, and resists levering at floor level.
- Set up the locking system: The patented Trellidor multi-point locking is tested to ensure multiple locking points engage correctly with a single key turn.
Commissioning & Handover
- Operational test: The installer will open/close the grille repeatedly to confirm smooth travel, correct stacking, and clean engagement at the locking points.
- Key and lock check: Keys are tested, and the lock cover is checked for correct fit and protection.
- Maintenance guidance: You’ll be advised on basic cleaning and care to keep the grille operating smoothly and looking its best.
Important Notes
- Professional fitting recommended: The T900 is supplied as a made-to-measure security barrier and is intended to be installed by trained technicians.

Maintaining Your Warranty
To keep both corrosion and criminals at bay, and to ensure the full warranty period remains valid, Trellidor recommends a straightforward maintenance regime. Failure to carry out regular maintenance may affect the validity of the product warranty.
- Regular Cleaning: Clean the steel framework, tracks, and flights with a mild non-abrasive soap solution and a soft cloth. Remove any dirt or debris from the tracks to ensure smooth, unobstructed operation at all times.
- Lubrication: Keep the locking cylinder clear of dust using a graphite-based dry lubricant. Never use oil-based or wet lubricants inside the keyway as this can attract debris and cause the mechanism to seize.
- Track Inspection: Periodically inspect the top track cover, sill guide, and anchor plates for any signs of physical damage, corrosion, or loosening fixings. Address any issues promptly.
- Coastal Environments: In coastal locations, increase the frequency of cleaning to counteract the effects of salt air on the powder-coated framework and locking components.
Warranty Conditions
- Professional Installation: The warranty is only valid when the grille has been professionally measured and fitted by a trained, certified technician strictly in accordance with the manufacturer's installation specifications.
- Unauthorised Modifications: Any cutting, drilling, welding, or alteration of the grille's components after installation will immediately void the manufacturer's warranty.
- Intended Use: The warranty covers material and manufacturing defects under normal intended use only. It does not extend to damage caused by deliberate forced attacks, structural building movement, fire, flooding, or acts of nature.
- Original Purchaser: The warranty applies to the original purchaser only and is not transferable upon sale or change of ownership of the property.

MeasureHow to Measure for the Trellidor Plus T900
Because the Trellidor Plus T900 is a custom-made, fully framed security barrier, precise measurements are critical for a successful installation. The grille is designed to sit within a structural opening (reveal fix) or on the face of the wall (face fix). The following guide will help you capture the correct dimensions to ensure your LPCB Level 1 certified grille fits perfectly.
Step 1: Inspect the Opening
Before measuring, verify that the opening is suitable for installation. The T900 requires a solid substrate for anchoring (brick, concrete, or structural steel). Ensure there are no obstructions such as skirting boards, dado rails, or protruding door handles that could foul the operation of the grille.
Step 2: Measuring the Width
Structural openings are rarely perfectly square. You must measure the width in three separate locations to identify any potential variances.
- Measure the width at the very top of the opening.
- Measure the width across the middle.
- Measure the width at the very bottom (floor level).
Critical Rule: Always record the smallest of the three measurements. This is your tightest structural width.
Step 3: Measuring the Height
Similarly, measure the height in three positions to account for uneven floors or lintels.
- Measure the height at the far left side.
- Measure the height in the centre.
- Measure the height at the far right side.
Critical Rule: Record the shortest of the three measurements. This is your tightest structural height.
Step 4: Applying Installation Tolerances (Reveal Fix)
When installing a fully framed grille between the structural opening (a reveal fix), you cannot order the grille to the exact tightest dimensions. You must allow a manufacturing and installation tolerance so the steel frame can physically slide into the opening without binding against the brickwork.
- Width Deduction: Take your smallest width measurement and deduct at least 10mm (5mm per side) to get your final ordering width.
- Height Deduction: Take your shortest height measurement and deduct at least 10mm (5mm top and bottom) to get your final ordering height.
- Note: Any resulting gaps around the frame can be easily sealed with frame sealant or architrave trim once the grille is bolted securely in place.
Step 5: Considerations for Face-Fixed Installations
If you are mounting the grille onto the face of the wall (outside of the reveal) to keep the opening completely clear when the grille is stacked, tolerances work differently:
- Width: Measure the clear opening width and add sufficient overlap (typically 15-20% of the opening width) so the stacked grille sits flush against the wall surface, keeping the doorway completely clear.
- Height: Measure the clear opening height and add at least 50-100mm above the lintel to provide a solid, flat fixing surface for the heavy-duty top track.
Step 6: Allowance for Tracks
The T900 features a steel top track and a bottom sill guide. When measuring the height, ensure you are measuring from the underside of the lintel all the way down to the solid floor. If there is a carpet or floating floor, you may need to lift it or cut it back to ensure the bottom track sits directly on a solid, level structural substrate.
