Description

When ventilation is required inside a confined area or indeed any building at all, the louvre steel door is used to regulate temperature and provide air flow. That could be a plant room generating constant heat or a room where ventilation is required to reduce potential build up of fumes or gasses.

The LouvreGuard is a made to order louvre steel doorset with totally customisable design in terms of the louvre sizes and position within the door but also a massive choice of overpanel and side panels in louvre sections too for maximum air flow in large openings.

Available in single or double door leaf configurations and in almost any RAL colour finish with high quality powdercoating in a state of the art process. We offer a wide standard range of colours for a faster turnaround and optimum pricing.

The louvre panels can be incorporated into steel doorsets which have security ratings and even fire ratings in multiple specifications. The louvre sections can be either steel or aluminium to suit specific requirements.

Louvre mesh options can include fibreglass, aluminium or nylon insect meshes. Galvanised steel bird and rodent mesh panels can also be fitted.

High Security
Quite unique is the ability to offer louvre doors with no compromise on the security for the doorset. The Defender Extreme can incorporate high security louvre panels, even with the side and over panels if required too.

Application

Any building or room requiring fresh air ventilation or temperature reduction with outside air flow in and heat going out.

Typical examples include data centres, plant rooms, boiler rooms, substations, underground car parks, commercial kitchens, bin stores, chemical storage areas, utility buildings.

Specification

The specification for the louvre door is totally bespoke depending on other specific performance ratings required. Very often louvre steel doors are situated in remote places and security is a real requirement to prevent unwanted access to potentially dangerous buildings and enclosures.

The Defender Extreme, XtraGuard, PasGuard and more basic SafeGuard doors can all have optional louvre panels built in to varying specifications in order to retain any certification and ratings.

Door Leaf / Threshold
Galvanised steel double skin construction with varying panel thickness depending on security rating. Anti jemmy flange on leading door edge to prevent forced attack attempts..

Standard DDA compliant chamfered threshold profile in 2mm stainless steel construction.
Options for raised or extended cills, inward opening profiles with drainage or 4mm ramped design.
Integrated removable or bespoke thresholds available.

Sub Frame

Galvanised steel sub frame with bolted corners and integrated silicone rubber seals bonded into frame for optimal weather thermal and acoustic performance.

The biggest feature is being able to have louvre side and overpanels incorporated to provide a large aperture solution with ventilation maximised.

CE Marked: Conforms to BS EN 14351-1 for external doorsets.
Security: Can be upgraded to LPS 1175 (SR1 /  SR2) with caveats on specification.
Fire-Rated: Some door models available with limited fire integrity when ventilation panels are combined with fire-rated elements and hardware.

Many other options can be incorporated into the louvre doors including vision panels, electronic locking and access control, panic furniture, stainless steel elements and furniture and the widest range of transom sections and louvre walling to match the doors.

Measure

A steel doorset is always ordered by the OVERALL dimensions including the door leaf and outer sub fixing frame with no tolerances allowed for. Most people would generally allow 5mm tolerance all the way around the door, but it all depends on how square or true your aperture is on site. This is up to your judgement based on the aperture quality.

This would mean if your structural opening size is measured as 1000mm width and 2100mm height the door and frame ought to be 990mm wide and 2090mm high with the frame and any threshold included. So many louvre door use additional side and top transom sections so the measuring is often dealt with as a whole aperture dimension with the doors incorporated into the overall sizing.

Always measure the top, middle and bottom of your aperture width and the left and right hand side for the height and if possible do a measure to make sure the opening is square as well.

Always use millimetres for measuring as this is how we relay back the ordering dimensions to you for checking and approving a drawing for your order.

We will always send a drawing for approval before manufacturing commences.
