DescriptionHigh security and high quality double leaf doorset with a choice of over 200 beautiful powdercoat colours to compliment any building.
The Samson Defender Extreme-2 Level 3 rated door is a custom built double leaf high security steel doorset offering C5 (SR3) certified rating, tested and accredited by BRE under the stringent requirements of LPS1175: issue 8. This is a serious steel doorset for a proper investment in security and a common misconception is that steel doors look ‘industrial’, but they really do not, with the right colour and high quality hardware.
This made to measure double leaf, double skinned, steel doorset is outward opening only for compliance. The whole doorset is manufactured entirely in the UK by Metador.
We offer a range for these doors which are security steel doorsets, stringently tested to the LPCB LPS 175 standard (issue 8), levels B3, C5 and D10. SR2, SR3 and SR4 are covered.
The door has a maximum width in the single leaf format of 2900mm wide (4900mm with side panel) and a height up to 2500mm (3440mm with top transom), including the outer steel fixing sub frame which is always factory fitted and complete with all relevant hardware and locking fitted too. It is readily available as a single leaf doorset too - Extreme-1 SR3.
There is an extensive range of hardware offering: locks, latches, handles, panic hardware, closers, and stays which are all approved to the LPS 1175 rating required.
The door and frame are powder coated to any RAL colour option with some key standard options offered for a faster turnaround. Marine grade option finishes are also available for any doors situated near to coastal locations.
The Defender Extreme is built to be an external steel doorset primarily, but can be used internally too, just be wary of the threshold arrangement and its suitability for your site. Optional thresholds can be fitted to assist with any relevant requirements, deeper and wider when required.
Options
A range of solid, glazed or louvered side and over panels are also available within the LPS1175 rating as well, depending on final sizing required.
ApplicationAny commercial or industrial building requiring very high levels of security at all times. SR3 steel doors are tested against a wider range of tools, including modern power tools to offer greater resistance to attack than SR2 rated doors. The doors are designed to resist an attack for at least 5 minutes when the intruders are not too bothered about some noise made either.
Not only do these doors offer greater levels of security, they are also manufactured to higher standards with stronger overall integrity and components used and therefore always tend to have greater longevity through their durability.

MeasureA steel doorset is always ordered by the OVERALL dimensions including the door leaf and outer sub fixing frame with no tolerances allowed for. Most people would generally allow 5mm tolerance all the way around the door, but it all depends on how square or true your aperture is on site. This is up to your judgement based on the aperture quality.
This would mean if your structural opening size is measured as 2300mm width and 2100mm height the door and frame ought to be 2290mm wide and 2090mm high with the frame and any threshold included.
Always measure the top, middle and bottom of your aperture width and the left and right hand side for the height and if possible do a measure to make sure the opening is square as well.
Always use millimetres for measuring as this is how we relay back the ordering dimensions to you for checking and approving a drawing for your order.
We will always send a drawing for approval before manufacturing commences.
