Security Certified Steel Roller Shutter
The SeceuroDoor 7501 represents the evolution of the renowned SeceuroShield 7501, now fully integrated into the 'SeceuroDoor' family of dedicated steel roller door products. This model bridges the gap between a standard security shutter and a larger industrial door, offering a robust, LPS 1175 SR1-rated solution for commercial and industrial premises.
Constructed from a standard 22-gauge galvanized steel slat, the 7501 serves perfectly as either a primary access door or a secondary security layer over large windows and vulnerable glass entrances. While supplied in a galvanized finish as standard, a full range of powder-coat colour options is available to match your business branding.
LPS 1175 SR1: Security Certification Explained
In the UK commercial sector, security ratings are not just about peace of mind—they are often an insurance requirement. The SeceuroDoor 7501 holds the LPS 1175 SR1 (Security Rating 1) certification, testing its resistance against opportunist attackers using bodily force and a specific kit of stealth tools (such as screwdrivers, knives, and pliers) for a measured period of time.
Important Installation Requirement for Certification:
To achieve and maintain the SR1 rating, this shutter MUST be face-fitted internally. The entire coil (curtain roll) and the guide rails must be positioned completely behind the structural opening, ensuring they are not visible or accessible from the outside. If the shutter is installed externally or "between" the opening, the certification is void and compliance is not achieved.
'Continental' Design and Tube Motor Operation
Unlike traditional industrial doors that use separate angles and sliding endplates, the SeceuroDoor 7501 is built to a modern 'Continental' specification. This means the supporting endplates and guide rails are perfectly aligned at the outer edges, connecting together to create a single, cohesive unit. This design ensures a neater finish and a significantly easier installation process compared to traditional methods.
The door is powered by a high-quality 240V internal tube motor, which is concealed entirely within the steel barrel. This keeps the motor protected and out of sight, maintaining the clean lines of the shutter.
Usage Recommendations
The tube motor system is designed for low-usage applications. We recommend this motor type for openings where the door will be operated fewer than 10 times per day. It is an ideal solution for securing premises overnight or over weekends.
Note: If your business requires frequent access (more than 10 cycles a day), we strongly recommend looking at our single-phase or three-phase industrial motor options to handle the higher duty cycle.
Controls and Operation
We offer a versatile selection of control options to suit your workflow. The most common and reliable choice for this type of shutter is a simple internal push-button station with "hold-to-run" logic. This "deadman" operation is the easiest to set up, requires the least maintenance, and ensures the operator is present while the door is moving, enhancing safety.
Ordering Dimensions and Surveying
Ordering the SeceuroDoor 7501 differs from traditional industrial builds. For this 'Continental' style shutter, you must order using the Overall Width and Overall Height, which includes the guide rails and the endplates/hood cover. It is crucial NOT to order by the daylight opening size alone.
Our Promise: To ensure total accuracy, Samson Doors will always produce and send you a technical drawing confirming ALL dimensions and specifications for your approval before manufacturing proceeds. This eliminates risk and ensures your high-security shutter fits perfectly to the millimetre.
Low use applications in commercial or industrial environments. Medium to larger size apertures where higher levels of security are required.

Security Certification (LPCB)
The SeceuroDoor 7501 is an insurance-approved security roller shutter, rigorously tested to Loss Prevention Standard 1175 (LPS 1175) and achieving an SR1 Rating. This standard is operated by the Loss Prevention Certification Board (LPCB), the UK’s leading independent certification body.
The LPS 1175 standard is recognised and endorsed by 16 major organisations, including the Association of British Insurers and the Association of Police Officers, ensuring valid insurance compliance for commercial premises.
Installation & Compliance Warning
CRITICAL INSTALLATION REQUIREMENT FOR SR1 RATING:
To achieve and comply with the SR1 Certification, this shutter MUST BE FACE FITTED INTERNALLY. The guide rails and the complete roll of the curtain must be positioned entirely behind the structural opening and must not be visible from the outside. If you choose to install this product externally or fit it between the opening, certification compliance is NOT possible, and the SR1 rating will be void.
Motor Drive: 240V Tube Motor vs. Industrial Drives
The SeceuroDoor 7501 is powered by a high-quality 240V Single Phase Tubular Motor. This motor is concealed entirely within the steel barrel of the shutter, offering a clean, compact, and aesthetically pleasing solution with no external motor bulk.
Is this the right motor for you?
- Tube Motor (Standard on 7501): Designed for low usage applications (typically fewer than 10 operations per day). It is perfect for retail shopfronts, secure storage, and commercial premises that only open and close once or twice a day. It provides the neatest installation as the motor is invisible.
- Industrial Motors (External Chain/Direct Drive): If your door requires frequent operation (e.g., a busy loading bay opening 20+ times a day), a tube motor is not suitable. In such cases, we recommend looking at our industrial door range (such as the SeceuroDoor 75 or 77) which utilize heavy-duty single or three-phase external motors designed for high-cycle durability.
Construction & Design: The 'Continental' Specification
This model is built to a Continental Design specification, which differs from traditional industrial shutter construction. Instead of standard steel angles, it features:
- Neater Aesthetics: A dedicated head box and 90mm extruded aluminium guides as standard, offering a higher-grade finish suitable for customer-facing environments.
- Easier Installation: The guide rails and endplates are designed to align perfectly, making the installation process smoother and more precise than traditional "steel angle" methods.
- Curtain: Constructed from a strong single-skin 22 swg (gauge) galvanised steel profile.
Colour & Vision Options
The door is supplied with a galvanised finish as standard. However, we offer extensive customisation:
- Powder Coating: The curtain and guides can be powder-coated to any RAL or BS colour for an additional charge to match your branding.
- Vision Slats: You can mix solid and perforated slats within the curtain. This is ideal for retail environments where partial vision or light transmission (up to 30% when backlit) is required without compromising the SR1 security rating.
Technical Dimensions & Notes
All SeceuroDoor products are made to measure to the millimetre as standard for a perfect fit at no extra charge.
Heavy Curtain Note (Box Extension):
A box extension is required on this shutter when the curtain weight exceeds 172kg (on a 4" axle) or 134kg (on a 5" axle). If fitting between an opening (non-compliant for SR1), this box extension requires an additional 30mm of space which is not included in the overall width dimensions shown on standard drawings. Final approval drawings will highlight this detail.

Measuring Guide: Electric Tube Motor Roller Shutters
The measuring, pricing, and ordering dimensions for any electric roller shutter door with an electric tube motor drive are determined by the OVERALL WIDTH and OVERALL HEIGHT. These dimensions must include the guides for the width and the endplates for the height, regardless of whether it is a Continental or Traditional build arrangement. See the diagram below.
OVERALL WIDTH (with guides included) = Ordering Width
OVERALL HEIGHT (with endplates included) = Ordering Height
Traditional vs. Continental Build
The Traditional build roller door arrangement uses heavier-duty steel guides with steel angle sections. In contrast, the Continental build roller doors use aluminium guides. Traditional build doors can generally accommodate larger sizes and offer more adaptations with the guides and track fixing angles for challenging installation scenarios.
Both door builds have the guides, endplates, and optional roll hood cover fitted within the external endplate dimensions.
Important Note: The endplate and hood cover size will vary depending on the height of the door. Please check the drive-through height and endplate size carefully if your dimensions are critical.
Face Fit - Behind the Opening
Most roller shutter doors are installed to the inside face of the aperture. In a perfect scenario, your daylight opening dimensions are between the guides and underneath the endplate dimensions.
Please bear in mind that ANY roller shutter will always have a ‘hangdown’ when opened fully, making the final drive-through height slightly less than the height of the guides. This is normal and varies on different models depending on the curtain specification. If your opening drive-through height is critical, please speak to us first to determine the best height to order.
Reveal Fit - Between the Opening
Some roller shutter doors are installed between the aperture. This is where the electric tube motor roller door arrangement is best used, as all components are inboard from the ordering dimensions. While you can install any roller shutter door between an opening, industrial motor-driven models require some additional steel work to make them fit between the opening properly.
