High Security Electric Steel Roller Shutter – SR2 Rated
Product Overview
High quality, electric operated, high security, industrial steel roller shutter using a standard gauge curtain slat in an 18swg (1.2mm) thick galvanised steel curtain. The traditional build is primarily for internal face fit applications, which is suitable for most commercial buildings, especially those of steel frame construction.
This security rated and tested roller door is built for buildings where security is important, giving peace of mind due to its tested security level 2 (SR2) rating.
This is a single phase, 240V electric motor operated security roller shutter for the UK market using a single skin steel curtain. If insulation is required, consider our 9501 model, which features a double skinned insulated steel slat.
Industrial Build and Applications
Built for low to medium use, this is a high quality, industrial ‘Traditional’ build roller shutter door, using an externally mounted chain drive industrial GfA motor for electric operation. Only built for internal face fitting, this door suits a wide range of applications and provides excellent, reliable daily operation.
Motor Technology and Usage
GfA manufacture the very best industrial door motors, providing leading edge technology and excellent, reliable access control options. Electric drive 240V motor roller doors are usually intended for medium usage openings with average daily use, as they do not have the higher cycle ratings of three phase motor drives.
The single skin steel galvanised curtain uses a 75mm scrolled lath in 18 gauge steel, with guides and endplates also fabricated from galvanised steel for durability and strength.
Tested Security Compliance
The rigorous LPS 1175 burglary resistance standard is operated by the Loss Prevention Certification Board (LPCB), the UK’s leading independent certification body. The LPS 1175 standard is recognised and endorsed by 16 organisations, including the Association of British Insurers and the Association of Police Officers.

Curtain Construction & Material
The SeceuroDoor 7502 (Industrial) features a heavy-duty 18-gauge galvanised steel single-skin curtain with a robust 75mm scrolled lath profile. This traditional build industrial roller shutter provides superior corrosion resistance and structural durability. It is available in a standard galvanised finish or a wide range of powder-coat colours to match your business branding.
⚠️ Critical Installation Requirement for SR2 Certification
THIS ROLLER SHUTTER DOOR MUST BE FACE-FITTED INTERNALLY TO COMPLY AND ACHIEVE THE CERTIFICATION FOR THE SR2 RATING.
The guides and complete roll of the curtain must be completely behind the structural opening and not visible from outside. If you choose to fit in-between or externally, then the certification compliance is not possible.
Single Phase 240V Electric Motor System
The GfA Single Phase 240V Chain Drive Motor is specifically engineered for medium-use applications (approx. 30-40 operations per day). This configuration combines proven industrial reliability with cost-effective operation, utilizing a standard UK single-phase electrical supply.
Key Motor Advantages:
- Standard Power Compatibility: Connects to a standard 240V supply, eliminating the need for expensive three-phase power upgrades.
- GfA Quality: Manufactured by GfA, the industry leader in door automation, ensuring the same build quality as higher-capacity 3-phase models.
- Chain Drive System: External chain drive configuration allows for reliable lifting power and straightforward manual override.
- Thermal Performance: Optimised for moderate duty cycles with excellent heat dissipation.
Control Options
The electric single-phase motor can be controlled by two main methods, tailored to your operational needs:
Option 1: Internal Push Button Station (Hold-to-Run)
The most basic and cost-effective method is an internal wall-mounted push button with "hold-to-run" logic. The operator must hold the button firmly for the duration of the cycle. This removes the legal requirement for safety edges. (Note: A separate pedestrian entry door is required for this method).
Option 2: Wall-Mounted Control Panel (Impulse Operation)
For greater convenience, a wall-mounted control panel can be programmed for "impulse" operation (one-touch). This system features a safety edge detection system built into the bottom rail to instantly stop and reverse the door if an obstacle is encountered, providing enhanced safety for frequent daily use.
SR2 Certification & Security Protocol
To maintain LPS 1175 Level 2 compliance, the bullet locks must be inserted and secured in place when the door is closed. This should be carried out at the last operation of the day and form a mandatory part of your building's security protocol.
Colour and Finish Options
We offer versatile finishing options to suit your aesthetic requirements:
- Powder Coat Finish: A high-quality polyester powder coating applied to both sides of the slat for a consistent appearance.
- Plastisol Coated: A durable HP200 leathergrain external coating with a standard off-white internal finish, ideal for exposed locations.
- Natural Galvanised Steel: The standard industrial finish, providing excellent corrosion resistance and a clean, functional look.
Custom Colours: We can supply bespoke colours beyond our standard online range. Please contact us for a custom quotation.
Quality Assurance & Compliance
All SeceuroDoor Industrial Shutters are:
- CE or UKCA Marked: Fully compliant with UK regulations for commercial use.

Measuring Guide: Industrial Electric Roller Shutters (SR Rated)
IMPORTANT: MANDATORY FACE-FIT INSTALLATION
To comply with the certified Security Rating, this door MUST be installed internally to the face of the opening. Installation "between" the opening (reveal fit) or externally is NOT permitted and will void the certification.
For all industrial electric roller shutter doors equipped with an industrial motor (single or three-phase), the measuring, pricing, and ordering dimensions are defined by the OPENING WIDTH and GUIDE HEIGHT. These dimensions exclude the guides for the width and the endplates for the height. Please refer to the measuring diagram below.
ORDERING WIDTH = Opening Width (Clear width between the guides)
ORDERING HEIGHT = Guide Height (Floor to top of guides, excluding endplates)
Critical Dimensions & Motor Sideroom
Unlike tube motor doors, the overall width at the high level (where the barrel and endplates are fitted) will be wider than the overall width across the guides. This width can vary significantly depending on whether you choose an Inboard or Outboard motor setup.
- Outboard Motor: The motor is mounted externally on the endplate. This setup requires more sideroom on the motor side compared to the non-motor side.
- Motor Type Impact: The choice between a Chain Drive or Direct Drive motor will also affect the total width required at the head of the door.
Endplates & Headroom
The size of the endplates (and hood, if fitted) will vary depending on the specific door model and the total height of the door, as taller doors create a larger curtain roll. Please ensure you have sufficient headroom above the ordering height to accommodate this.
- Manual Override: The emergency manual override (included as standard) is located on the same side as the motor internally. Access is directly underneath the endplate. Alternative positions are available on request.
Face Fit - Behind the Opening (Required)
This industrial roller shutter is designed to be installed to the inside face of the structural opening. This "Face Fit" ensures the entire guide and coil mechanism sits behind the fabric of the building, providing maximum security.
In a perfect scenario, your ordering dimensions (Daylight Opening) will be equal to the clear space between the guides and underneath the endplates.
Important Note on Hangdown: Be aware that ANY roller shutter will have a degree of ‘hangdown’ (the bottom slat visible in the opening) when fully raised. This means the final drive-through height will be slightly less than the Guide Height. This varies by model and curtain specification. If your drive-through height is critical, please speak to us first to determine the best height to order.
