SeceuroDoor 7501 Security Shutter Door - Traditional Build

High-Security Traditional Steel Roller Shutter

The SeceuroDoor 7501 (Traditional Build) represents the pinnacle of commercial security engineering from a manufacturer with over 30 years of experience. Designed with security as a priority, this model is an insurance-approved roller shutter tested to the rigorous Loss Prevention Standard 1175 (LPS 1175), achieving an SR1 Rating.

Unlike the 'Continental' version, this Traditional Build specification utilizes heavier-duty steel guides and angles, making it a robust solution for larger openings where structural strength and adaptability are paramount.

LPS 1175 SR1: Security Certification Compliance

This shutter provides verified protection for medium-risk commercial and industrial applications. However, proper installation is critical to validity.

Important Certification Requirement:
To maintain the Level 1 (SR1) Security Rating, this door MUST be face-fitted internally. The entire shutter assembly—including guides and curtain roll—must be positioned behind the structural opening. If installed externally or between the opening, the certification is void.

240V Tube Motor & Usage

Powered by a single-phase 240V electric tube motor, this shutter offers a neat and compact drive solution. The motor is fully integrated inside the barrel, remaining completely hidden from view except for the necessary limit setting points and power cabling.

  • Daily Usage: This motor system is designed for low to medium usage (typically rated for 10–20 operations per day). It is ideal for premises that do not require constant access.
  • Controls: While compatible with industrial control options, the most common choice for this motor type is a simple internal key switch or rocker switch, reflecting its typical use case on doors that are not cycled frequently.
  • Manual Override: An internal manual override facility is included as standard. This features a winding handle attachment point situated underneath the roller curtain on the motor side, ensuring operation is possible even during a power failure.
  • Limitations: Please note that 240V tube motors have limits on pulling force and are not suitable for very high openings.

Why Choose the Traditional Build?

The "Traditional" specification is often preferred for more challenging installation environments. The use of steel angle sections allows for greater flexibility when fixing to different substrates and structural setups. Key Features & Standards

The SeceuroDoor 7501 (Traditional) combines proven security with modern manufacturing standards:

  • Construction: Strong single-skin 22g galvanised steel profile curtain.
  • Finish: Galvanised steel as standard, with options for powder coating to any RAL/BS colour.
  • Vision: Flexibility to mix solid and perforated slats for partial vision (e.g., retail displays) without compromising security.
  • Compliance: Fully CE or UKCA marked and manufactured in an ISO9001 and ISO14001 certified UK facility.
  • Wind Class: Class 2 rating (when used with 65mm+ guides).
  • Certification: The LPS 1175 standard is endorsed by the Association of British Insurers and the Association of Police Officers, offering genuine peace of mind.
Application

Any aperture where access is infrequent. Commercial or industrial applications where security is required but regular opening and closing isn't.

Specification

Technical Specification: SeceuroDoor 7501 (Traditional)

Construction & Traditional Build

The SeceuroDoor 7501 utilizes a strong 22-gauge (SWG) single-skin galvanised steel curtain. Unlike the Continental model, this version features a Traditional Build specification:

  • Guides & Angles: Constructed using heavy-duty steel channels and angle guides rather than aluminium.
  • Structural Strength: This robust construction is better suited for larger sizes and installations where the headplate requires additional support (e.g., fixing to a steel goalpost frame).
  • Endplates: The endplates are attached directly to the steel angles, creating a self-supporting structure that aids installation on difficult substrates.

Security Certification & Compliance

CRITICAL INSTALLATION REQUIREMENT FOR SR1 RATING:

To achieve the LPS 1175 SR1 Security Rating, this shutter MUST BE FACE FITTED INTERNALLY. The guide rails and the complete curtain roll must be positioned entirely behind the structural opening and must not be visible from the outside.

Locking: To comply with the security rating, a manual bottom rail locking system is included and must be used. If you install this product externally or between the opening, the certification is void.

Motor & Control Options

The 240V electric tube motor is designed for low-usage applications and is integrated neatly inside the barrel. To maintain the security rating, control options are specific:

  • Standard Operation (Hold-to-Run): The most common method is an internal wall-mounted push-button station with "hold-to-run" logic. The operator must hold the button for the duration of the cycle. This method removes the need for safety edges or beams, keeping costs down, but requires alternative access to the building.
  • External Control: An external key switch can be added (recommended in a steel security box) for outside operation.

Ordering Dimensions (Traditional Build)

Important Difference: Unlike the Continental build, the ordering dimensions for this Traditional build door are typically the Daylight Opening Sizes (Effective Width and Height), excluding the guides and endplates/hood.

Please consult the Measuring Tab for specific diagrams and instructions to ensure accuracy.

Colour & Finish Options

The curtain is available in three primary finish tiers:

  1. Galvanised Steel (Standard): The natural zinc finish. This is the most cost-effective option and is widely used for industrial applications.
  2. Powder Coated: Painted to a specific colour which is applied to both sides of the slat.
  3. Plastisol Coated: A durable, leathergrain-effect external finish (HP200) which comes with a standard off-white/grey internal paint finish.

Customisation: We can offer special colours outside the standard range and allow for mixing and matching of guides, hood covers, and curtains. Please contact us for details and pricing.

Measure

Measuring Guide: Electric Tube Motor Roller Shutters

The measuring, pricing, and ordering dimensions for any electric roller shutter door with an electric tube motor drive are determined by the OVERALL WIDTH and OVERALL HEIGHT. These dimensions must include the guides for the width and the endplates for the height, regardless of whether it is a Continental or Traditional build arrangement. See the diagram below.

OVERALL WIDTH (with guides included) = Ordering Width
OVERALL HEIGHT (with endplates included) = Ordering Height

Traditional vs. Continental Build

The Traditional build roller door arrangement uses heavier-duty steel guides with steel angle sections. In contrast, the Continental build roller doors use aluminium guides. Traditional build doors can generally accommodate larger sizes and offer more adaptations with the guides and track fixing angles for challenging installation scenarios.

Both door builds have the guides, endplates, and optional roll hood cover fitted within the external endplate dimensions.

Important Note: The endplate and hood cover size will vary depending on the height of the door. Please check the drive-through height and endplate size carefully if your dimensions are critical.

Face Fit - Behind the Opening

Most roller shutter doors are installed to the inside face of the aperture. In a perfect scenario, your daylight opening dimensions are between the guides and underneath the endplate dimensions.

Please bear in mind that ANY roller shutter will always have a ‘hangdown’ when opened fully, making the final drive-through height slightly less than the height of the guides. This is normal and varies on different models depending on the curtain specification. If your opening drive-through height is critical, please speak to us first to determine the best height to order.

Reveal Fit - Between the Opening

Some roller shutter doors are installed between the aperture. This is where the electric tube motor roller door arrangement is best used, as all components are inboard from the ordering dimensions. While you can install any roller shutter door between an opening, industrial motor-driven models require some additional steel work to make them fit between the opening properly.
