SeceuroDoor 95 Insulated Industrial Roller Shutter (Single Phase Chain Drive)
The SeceuroDoor 95 Insulated with a single-phase 240V chain drive motor combines premium thermal performance with an accessible domestic-style electrical supply. It is the ideal specification for medium-sized industrial and commercial installations where three-phase power is unavailable or cost-prohibitive.
Featuring the same exceptional dual-walled insulated steel profile as our heavy-duty variants, this door delivers outstanding thermal efficiency alongside the mechanical advantages of chain drive transmission. It is perfectly suited for workshops, smaller warehouses, commercial units, and industrial premises operating on a standard single-phase electrical supply throughout the UK.
GfA Single-Phase Inboard Chain Drive Technology
At the core of this system is an externally mounted GfA Elektromat motor. Unlike direct-drive systems that mount directly to the axle, this configuration uses a heavy-duty industrial chain mechanism to transmit power.
- Enhanced Torque: The chain transmission provides a mechanical advantage, delivering higher torque capacity compared to direct drive alternatives. This is particularly beneficial for lifting the heavier insulated curtain on larger single-phase doors.
- Standard Power Supply: The 240V configuration connects directly to standard UK mains electricity (13A or 16A), eliminating the need for costly three-phase infrastructure upgrades while maintaining professional industrial performance.
- Serviceability: The external motor mounting allows for superior accessibility during routine maintenance without needing to dismantle the door assembly. An adjustable chain tension system ensures optimal performance over the door's lifetime.
Note regarding usage: Single-phase electric motors are specified for medium usage (moderate daily cycles). They do not have the continuous high-frequency duty rating of three-phase motors but provide exceptional reliability for typical commercial applications.
Advanced Insulated Profile Engineering
The SeceuroDoor 95 features a high-quality, double-skinned steel profile with a 95mm high and 20mm deep slat design. The core is filled with CFC-free polyurethane foam, offering significant advantages over standard single-skin doors:
- Thermal Efficiency: Achieves heat transmission rates of just 1.1 W/m²K (centre) and 3.2 W/m²K (quirk), helping to retain heat and lower energy costs.
- Structural Strength: The curved and ribbed lath design reduces deflection and increases security.
- Acoustic Insulation: The foam core and tight winding characteristics significantly reduce noise transfer and curtain rattle in high winds.
Single-Phase vs Three-Phase: Making the Right Choice
Choosing the correct power supply is critical for long-term reliability:
Choose Single-Phase 240V if:
- You have standard domestic-style mains electricity.
- The door will operate a moderate number of times per day (e.g., morning opening, evening closing, and occasional use during the day).
- You want to avoid the high installation costs of a new three-phase power supply.
Consider Three-Phase 415V if:
- The door requires high-frequency operation (20+ cycles per day) or intensive continuous use.
- The door is exceptionally large (approaching 44m²).
- You have a busy distribution center or manufacturing facility with constant vehicle movement.

Ideal for Medium-Usage Commercial and Industrial Applications
This is a great roller shutter door for so many applications and worth looking at over a single skin basic shutter as the extra cost is minimal compared to the benefits offered. This is an excellent door package with the strength, security, wind resistance and insulation offered by the double skinned curtain. Consider this door for any medium to large openings where single-phase electrical supply is the most practical or economical power source.
The single-phase 240V chain drive configuration is particularly advantageous for:
- Commercial warehouse units without three-phase electrical infrastructure
- Workshop loading bays requiring insulated performance on domestic power supply
- Retail and trade counter premises with moderate daily operation cycles
- Small to medium industrial units where three-phase installation costs are prohibitive
- Agricultural buildings and farm workshops operating on single-phase rural supplies
- Commercial storage facilities requiring thermal protection with accessible electrical connection
- Business premises upgrading from manual or tubular motor doors to industrial specification
- Medium-usage applications with typical commercial operation patterns (10-15 cycles daily)

Product Care Requirements
To maintain warranty validity and prolong the life of your SeceuroDoor product, correct operation and care in accordance with the official Operating & Maintenance Manual is essential. Regular maintenance includes wiping with a damp cloth and mild detergent to remove excessive dirt and grime, ensuring the floor is kept smooth, level and clear of dirt and debris which can damage the rubber seal, and conducting visual inspections to identify any issues before they develop into major problems.
Coastal Installation Requirements
Products installed in coastal environments or high-corrosion areas require enhanced maintenance protocols. Regular cleaning of products in locations within 2 miles of the sea is especially important. Doors should be cleaned thoroughly weekly using warm water and mild detergent with a soft cloth or sponge, allowed to dry naturally. Never use strong detergent, abrasive, caustic or solvent-based cleaners as these will void the warranty.
Visual Quality Assessment Standards
We recommend performing a visual quality check on installation. Carry out the quality check in natural daylight, not direct sunlight. Stand at a distance of 3 metres from the product to view the overall appearance. The product is acceptable if, taking into account the manufacturing process, none of the following is readily visible on the face of the product: marks or distortions associated with the manufacturing process, minor indentations, marks or scuffs on the surface, or paint or stain blemishes.

Measuring Guide: Industrial Electric Roller Shutters
Accurate measuring is critical for a successful installation. For all industrial electric roller shutter doors equipped with an industrial motor drive (whether Single Phase or Three Phase), the pricing and ordering dimensions are defined as follows:
How to Define Ordering Sizes
- ORDERING WIDTH: This is the Opening Width (or "Daylight Width") measured between the guide rails. It does not include the width of the guides themselves.
- ORDERING HEIGHT: This is the Guide Height measured from the floor to the underside of the endplates. It does not include the headroom required for the endplates or the curtain roll.
Please see the measuring diagram below for visual reference.
Important Sideroom & Headroom Considerations
While the ordering width covers the clear opening, you must allow additional space for the mechanism at high level:
- Endplate Width: The overall width at the top (where the barrel and motor are located) will always be wider than the guide width.
- Motor Arrangement: This width can vary significantly depending on whether you choose an inboard or outboard motor setup.
- Outboard Motor: Requires more sideroom on the motor side at endplate level compared to the non-motor side.
- Drive Type: The space required will also differ between Chain Drive and Direct Drive motor units.
- Emergency Override: The manual override system (chain or crank) is standardly positioned on the same side as the motor, accessed directly underneath the endplate. Alternative positions can be requested if required.
- Endplate Size: The size of the endplates (headroom required) varies depending on the door model and total height, which dictates the size of the curtain roll when fully open.
Installation Types
Face Fit - Behind the Opening (Recommended)
This is the standard and most recommended installation method for "Traditional" build industrial doors using steel guides and angle profiles.
In this scenario, the door is installed to the inside face of the structural aperture.
- Daylight Opening: Your actual drive-through width corresponds to the dimension between the guides.
- Height & Hangdown: Ideally, the "Underneath Endplate" dimension matches your lintel height. However, be aware that ANY roller shutter will always have a 'hangdown' (the bottom slat remains visible) when fully open. This reduces the final drive-through height slightly.
Critical Tip: If your drive-through height is absolutely critical for high vehicles, please speak to our technical team first to determine the optimal ordering height to ensure clearance.
Reveal Fit - Between the Opening
While it is possible to install any roller shutter between an opening, this method is typically better suited for "Tube Motor" designs where components are naturally inboard.
For industrial motor-driven models (Direct Drive/Chain Drive), installing between the reveal is more complex. It often requires additional steel work or custom bracketry to accommodate the motor and endplates within the opening width properly.
