- Why it’s great for your project..
If you’re looking for a shutter that doesn’t dominate the building facade, the SeceuroShield 150/T is a smart solution. Because the roll curtain hood is compact and the slats are lightweight, you get a neat installation that blends into its surroundings. At the same time you benefit from insulation and security — making it suitable for environments where aesthetics matter just as much as performance.
How to get started....
- Measure your opening: note the **overall width and height**, including any guides or box housing. (Ordering width = overall width including guides/box).
- Choose the operation mode: manual or electric, based on frequency of use, height/width and budget.
- Select the finish & colour: pick from standard colours or request bespoke finishes if you need to match existing building elements.
- Specify the mounting and configuration: built‑on (face fit) or built‑in (reveal fit) mounting, internal or external locations — confirm guides and box sizing as suitable.

Sizing Chart
Use the chart below to determine the required box size based on the height and width of your shutter.
| Height (Including Box) | Width (Including Guides) | Required Box Size |
|---|---|---|
| Up to 1700mm | Up to 4000mm | 165mm |
| 1701mm - 2100mm | Up to 4000mm | 180mm |
| 2101mm - 2800mm | Up to 4000mm | 205mm |
- Height: Add the appropriate box height (165mm, 180mm, or 205mm) to your clear opening height.
- Width: Add 106mm to your clear opening width to account for the H25 guide rails (53mm each side).
Installation Overview
Comprehensive installation instructions are provided with every SeceuroShield 150T order. Due to the 150T's foam-filled aluminium slat profile, the curtain is significantly lighter than extruded aluminium or steel alternatives. This reduced weight makes handling easier and often allows for a manageable installation by one or two people, depending on the overall dimensions.
Built-On Installation Methods
The "Built-On" specification allows the shutter to be installed in two primary configurations to suit your building's architecture:
- Face Fix: The shutter box and guide rails are installed onto the external or internal face of the wall, sitting above and outside the opening. This preserves the full clear width and height of the aperture.
- Reveal Fix: The shutter is installed within the window or door recess (reveal). The box sits under the lintel and the guides are fixed between the reveal walls. Note: This method reduces the clear opening height by the size of the box and width by the size of the guides.
General Fitting Guidelines
- Preparation: Check the opening dimensions against the shutter size. Ensure the surface for the guide rails and box is flat and solid.
- Guide Rail Drilling: Drill fixing holes in the H25 guide rails. A common method is 7mm pilot holes with 13mm clearance holes for plastic caps, spaced approximately 250mm from each end and then at 1000mm intervals.
- Assembly: Because the SeceuroShield 150T is lightweight, it is often possible to assemble the shutter box and guide rails on the ground before lifting the entire unit into position.
- Fixing:
- Lift the assembly against the opening (Face Fix) or into the opening (Reveal Fix).
- Ensure the unit is level and upright (plumb) before securing the guide rails to the wall.
- For larger shutters or reveal fixes, additional fixings through the shutter box end plates into the lintel may be required for stability.
- Operation Install:
- Belt/Cord Winder: Drill the necessary clearance hole through the wall (typically 22mm) for the belt tube if the shutter is externally fitted and operated from inside.
- Rod Crank: Ensure the rod aligns correctly with the box mechanism and drill through the wall or frame as required for the drive rod.
