Roller garage doors have become a very popular type of garage door in the UK over the last 10 years or so and the main reason might be their flexibility for installation, along with the neat mechanism and vertical operation. They leave space inside and outside the garage uninterrupted when operating and only generally require around 250 - 350mm of headroom and internal garage depth to accommodate the roll and mechanism.
Samson Doors offer a wide range of basic and premium roller garage doors either as manual or electric operated models and in steel and aluminium, double skinned construction.
We have our own extensive range of roller garage doors as well as some of the finest brands available in the UK right now.
What is a roller garage door?
- Curtain made from horizontal slats that roll into a compact coil above the opening.
- Typically needs only around 250–350 mm headroom and minimal side room (60–100 mm depending on model).
- No tracks running back into the garage, just vertical side guides and the roll housing.
- Can usually be fitted inside, between or in front of the opening, giving flexibility on tricky garages.
Compared with up and over or sectional garage doors, a roller door is ideal where space in front of the garage is tight or where you need maximum drive-through height.
