New products for another tough year

Hormann Leads the Way

HÖRMANN CONTINUES TO LEAD THE WAY

2009 looks set to be a challenging year for industry and commerce. Manufacturing and service companies are being forced to look at their operational procedures, services and suppliers to ensure that they are in as strong a position as possible to take on challenges that they will face in the months to come. Products and services will be more closely examined than ever and quality products produced and supplied at the right price will be critical for a successful business.
Being named ‘Loading Supplier of the Year’ by the Institute of Transport Management (ITM) for the third successive year, speaks volumes about the quality of Hormann engineering underlying the high levels of products and services which Hörmann UK provides.
According to the ITM, Hörmann provides products that facilitate for the total delivery process. The range of loading houses, dock shelter & seals and dock levellers are cost based, efficiency focused goods which strongly support the principles of transport logistics.
In order to maintain its consistent edge Hörmann has worked hard to stay ahead in moving with the times and producing quality products that are not just fit for purpose but that have the necessary environmental and cost effective characteristics that are so important in today’s marketplace.
It has been its ability to move with market conditions that has kept Hörmann as the provider of choice for ProLogis in all its UK installations (and many in Europe) as well as being the chosen provider for many other Industrial Property Developers.

One of the ProLogis Flagsip sites is Pineham in Northampton, it is one of the ‘greenest’ distribution facility’s in Europe, featuring all the latest technologies and modern construction methods devised to reduce carbon emissions and environmental impact.
Hörmann was chosen to install the loading bay equipment on this particular project because the Group utilizes effective environmental management systems in order to reduce the environmental impact of the manufacture and transportation of its products, keeping in line with the overall necessary criteria for this building and the distribution park as a whole.
Keen to ensure the transparency of its “green credentials”, Hörmann is the first industrial door and loading bay equipment manufacturer in the UK to procure the services of a specialist sustainability consultancy, a move that emphasises the Hörmann Group’s commitment to eco-friendly operation.
“dcarbon8” aims to promote responsible environmental and sustainable practices by encouraging clients to develop loyal and strategic environmental business alliances throughout the supply chain from supplier to consumer.
Alan Jenkins, commercial director of Hörmann’s industrial division, believes implementing dcarbon8’s recommendations will make the Hörmann brand even more appealing to sustainable developers.
“We have a high-quality product and service, but in certain instances now and certainly in years to come, this may not be enough. Applying measures that reduce carbon emissions are now regarded as integral to the infrastructure of buildings. Although we already utilise effective environmental management systems, by teaming up with dcarbon8 we can take our eco-friendly approach one step further.”
With its roots firmly based in Germany, the Hörmann Group is now truly international, with a large presence throughout Europe and North America. It remains one of the few remaining true family businesses, where all its products are manufactured within the Group, ensuring compatibility and quality control and giving the company the confidence to offer meaningful service and guarantee agreements to its customers.
Alan Jenkins continued; “It goes without saying that German engineering has a reputation for quality and very high standards. This renowned standard of quality is apparent in all Hörmann products and this has certainly been the driving factor behind the success of the entire Hörmann Group.
“Here in the UK, we are very fortunate to have excellent sales and technical teams in place to compliment a quality product which is in high demand throughout both the domestic garage door and industrial markets.”
From its headquarters in Coalville, Leicestershire, Hörmann UK continues to set the standard, not only through a top-class range of industrial doors and loading bay doors and equipment.

Samson Industrial Doors are one of Hormann's 'partner companies' and prefer Hormann products for their lasting durability and reliabilty in harsh environments such as busy warehouses, frozen food storage and the like.
