Description

Inna-Dor 120 - 2 Hour Fire Doorset

The Inna-Dor 120 is a premium made-to-measure steel doorset, engineered specifically for internal applications requiring substantial fire resistance. Fully tested to BS 476 Parts 20 & 22 and BS EN 1634-1, this door offers a certified fire rating of up to 2 hours (120 minutes), making it a critical component in any building's passive fire protection strategy.

Designed to seamlessly replace traditional timber fire doors, the Inna-Dor 120 combines the superior durability of steel with a refined aesthetic. It is ideal for separating higher-risk areas such as commercial kitchens, archives, and server rooms from main escape routes, ensuring that fire and smoke are effectively contained for an extended period.

Key Features

  • Verified Fire Performance: Certified for up to 120 minutes of fire integrity (FD120), suitable for both latched and unlatched configurations.
  • Superior Construction: Manufactured from 1.2mm corrosion-resistant Magnelis® steel, which provides up to 10 times better corrosion resistance than standard galvanised steel.
  • Acoustic Insulation: Capable of achieving a sound reduction index of up to 45dB (with specific infill options), offering excellent privacy for offices and educational spaces.
  • Custom Fit: Each doorset is custom-manufactured to your exact opening dimensions, ensuring a perfect fit and maximum performance.

Installation & Versatility

The Inna-Dor 120 is designed for ease of installation and operational flexibility. It features a unique variable sub-frame that accommodates site tolerances of -0/+30mm, significantly reducing installation time. The door is suitable for installation in:

  • Masonry & Concrete Walls: Standard fixing for maximum rigidity.
  • Flexible Stud Walls: Compatible with cold wall style partitions (requires fire-resistant boarding on the reveal face).
Application

The Inna-Dor 120 (FD120) occupies a critical "sweet spot" in fire protection, bridging the gap between standard compliance and extreme hazard mitigation. While 60-minute doors suit most offices, and 240-minute doors are for bunker-like protection, the 120-minute rating is the essential standard for high-value asset protection and critical infrastructure separation.

High-Risk Commercial Zones

In large commercial complexes, standard fire doors often fall short of insurance and safety requirements for specific high-risk zones. The Inna-Dor 120 is specifically engineered for:

  • Server Rooms & Data Centres: Providing a mandatory 2-hour burn time allows for the complete activation of gas suppression systems and protects irreplaceable digital assets from external fire spread.
  • Commercial Kitchens: acting as a robust barrier between high-heat cooking environments and public dining areas or escape routes.
  • Document Archives: Essential for legal firms, banks, and government buildings where physical records require extended protection times beyond standard evacuation needs.

Industrial & Utility Infrastructure

For industrial settings, the Inna-Dor 120 offers the perfect balance of weight, usability, and protection:

  • Plant Rooms & Boiler Houses: Often legally required to have 120-minute separation from the main building structure due to the higher risk of intense fires.
  • Chemical Storage: Provides the necessary containment time for hazardous materials storage areas where standard 60-minute doors would fail too quickly.
  • Substation & Switch Rooms: Meets the specific DNO (Distribution Network Operator) requirements for many internal substations located within larger commercial buildings.

High-Rise & Multi-Occupancy

As building heights increase, so do evacuation times. The Inna-Dor 120 is a vital component in modern high-rise strategies:

  • Stairwell Enclosures: protecting the primary escape route for longer periods in buildings exceeding standard height limits (typically 18m-30m+).
  • Lift Lobbies: creating a secure "airlock" that prevents smoke and fire from using lift shafts as chimneys, a critical requirement in deep-plan buildings.
  • Communal Fire Doors: In high-rise residential blocks, FD120 doors are often specified for cross-corridor separation to create effective progressive evacuation zones.

Why Choose Steel for FD120?

While timber doors can achieve a 120-minute rating, they often require excessive thickness (64mm+) and weight to do so. The Inna-Dor 120 achieves this protection with a slimmer 54mm profile that is significantly more durable:

  • Traffic Resilience: Unlike timber, the steel construction effectively resists damage from trolleys and heavy footfall, which would otherwise compromise the fire integrity of a wood door.
  • Hygiene & Maintenance: The smooth steel surface is impervious to moisture and bacteria, making it superior for hospitals and food production areas where deep cleaning is routine.

Installation

Installation & Assembly

Our Robust steel doorsets are engineered to minimize on-site labour and eliminate the common headaches associated with traditional door installation. Every unit is designed with a "Single Fix" philosophy, meaning the door is supplied as a complete, ready-to-fit system rather than a collection of parts.

Pre-Assembled Convenience

Unlike timber doors that require separate frame assembly, hanging, and hardware fitting, our steel doorsets arrive fully factory assembled. This means:

  • Pre-Hung Leaf: The door leaf is already mounted within the frame on high-performance stainless steel hinges.
  • Hardware Fitted: Locks, panic bars, and closers are pre-installed and tested in our factory, ensuring perfect alignment and operation out of the box.
  • Reduced Downtime: This "plug-and-play" approach drastically cuts installation time, allowing a typical single door to be fitted in less than 60 minutes by a competent installer.

Adjustable Frame System

We understand that structural openings are rarely perfect. Our unique installation system is designed to handle real-world site conditions without the need for excessive shimming or packing:

  • Variable Sub-Frame: The frame features an adjustable profile that can accommodate wall tolerance variances of -0mm to +30mm. This ensures a secure fit even in uneven openings.
  • Adjustable Fixing Feet: Each jamb is fitted with 4 adjustable fixing feet (8 per doorset). These allow installers to quickly level the frame and secure it firmly into the aperture using the provided 12mm Allen key.
  • No Shims Required: The integrated adjustment system removes the need for fiddly packers, creating a cleaner, more solid fixing point directly into the substrate.

Installation Kit Included

To further simplify the process, every doorset comes with a comprehensive installation kit containing:

  • 12mm Allen Key: For rapid adjustment of the fixing feet.
  • Touch-Up Paint: Matched to your door's colour for covering any minor installation marks.
  • Clear Mastic: For weather-sealing external perimeters (where applicable).
  • Drill Bits: Specialist bits suitable for concrete or steel fixing, ensuring you have the right tools for the job.
Warranty
