SeceuroDoor 75C Manual Roller Shutter - 20 Gauge (Heavy Duty)

Enhanced Strength for Demanding Environments

The SeceuroDoor 75C (20 Gauge) is the heavy-duty variant of our popular manual chain-operated roller shutter. While retaining the simple, reliable operation of the standard model, this version upgrades the curtain to a thicker 20 swg (0.9mm) galvanised steel profile.

This increase in material thickness provides critical advantages for specific applications:

  • Superior Rigidity: The thicker steel slat offers greater resistance to deflection, making it the recommended choice for larger openings (up to 5m wide) where wind pressure or stability is a concern.
  • Added Security: The heavier gauge steel presents a tougher physical barrier, offering enhanced protection against forced entry and impact damage compared to the standard 22g model.
  • Durability: Ideal for busier industrial environments or agricultural buildings where the door curtain may face rougher day-to-day conditions.

Cost-Effective Security Solution

Despite its heavy-duty construction, the SeceuroDoor 75C 20g remains an exceptionally cost-effective way to secure your premises. It provides a fully compliant, CE-marked industrial door solution without the expense of electric motors.

It is the perfect choice for securing openings on steel-fabricated buildings, warehouses, and barns where power is unavailable, but where a lightweight "standard" door might feel too flimsy.

Traditional Build & Operation

This door features a robust Traditional Build specification, utilizing heavy-duty steel angles and channel guides for maximum structural integrity. It is designed primarily for Internal Face Fitting, ensuring the coil and guides are protected behind the opening structure.

Geared Chain Operation:
Lifting a heavier 20-gauge curtain is made easy thanks to the high-quality geared chain hoist system. This mechanism significantly reduces the physical effort required, allowing a single operator to open and close even large 5m x 5m doors safely and smoothly from ground level.

Customisation & Finishes

The door is supplied in a Natural Galvanised finish as standard, offering a classic industrial look with excellent corrosion resistance. However, for branding or aesthetic requirements, it can be upgraded to:

  • Powder Coated: Any RAL or BS colour to match your facility.
  • Plastisol: A robust leathergrain-effect finish for superior weather protection in exposed locations.

Key Features Summary

  • Heavy-Duty Curtain: 20 swg (0.9mm) steel for extra strength and wind resistance.
  • Max Dimensions: Spans widths and heights up to 5000mm.
  • Application: Ideal for exposed sites, agricultural buildings, and larger industrial openings.
  • Operation: Geared manual chain hoist for easy lifting of the heavier curtain.
  • Compliance: Fully CE/UKCA marked and ISO 9001 manufactured.
  • Spring Option: (Available for doors under 2.8m high) Simple push-up operation is available for smaller, heavy-duty applications.
Application

Typical use would be on any small to medium size UK farm building, workshop or factory warehouse, all of which are not accessed very often and have another method of entry to enable access to the internal chain and hoisting mechanism.

In our ordering process you can choose the guide and operation side to suit your needs and structural opening layout.

Technical Specification: SeceuroDoor 75C (20 Gauge)

Curtain Construction

This upgraded version of the SeceuroDoor 75C is constructed from a heavy-duty 20-gauge (0.9mm) galvanised steel single-skin curtain.

The thicker 20-gauge slat offers significant advantages over the standard 22-gauge model:

  • Increased Security: Provides a tougher physical barrier against forced entry.
  • Enhanced Rigidity: Improved resistance to deflection, making it ideal for wider openings or exposed sites with higher wind loads.
  • Durability: A more robust solution for industrial environments with frequent activity.

Finish & Colour Options

The door is supplied in a Natural Galvanised Steel finish as standard. This is the most cost-effective option and is widely used for industrial applications where functionality is the priority.

For an additional cost, the curtain can be pre-finished in a range of durable coatings to match your branding or building aesthetics. The following upgrade options are available:

Coastal and High-Corrosion Environments

  • Rust or corrosion caused by exposure to saltwater or salty air for products installed within 500 metres of the sea or a large body of saltwater
  • For products installed within 2 miles of the sea, the exterior finish of the product is guaranteed for a limited period of 2 years only (regular weekly cleaning with warm water and mild detergent is essential)

Consumables and Consequential Costs

  • Consumable items such as fuses, light bulbs or batteries
  • Indirect, special or consequential loss or damage howsoever caused, including remedial work costs, call-out fees, tool or plant hire and transport costs

Important Warranty Conditions

The SeceuroDoor warranty covers parts only and does not cover labour costs or consequential costs. This includes but is not limited to call-out fees, transport costs and costs for remedial work for removing and/or re-installing faulty parts. All warranty claims must be reported promptly to allow for timely assessment and resolution.

Product Care Requirements

To maintain warranty validity and prolong the life of your SeceuroDoor product, correct operation and care in accordance with the official Operating & Maintenance Manual is essential. Regular maintenance includes wiping with a damp cloth and mild detergent to remove excessive dirt and grime, ensuring the floor is kept smooth, level and clear of dirt and debris which can damage the rubber seal, and conducting visual inspections to identify any issues before they develop into major problems.

Coastal Installation Requirements

Products installed in coastal environments or high-corrosion areas require enhanced maintenance protocols. Regular cleaning of products in locations within 2 miles of the sea is especially important. Doors should be cleaned thoroughly weekly using warm water and mild detergent with a soft cloth or sponge, allowed to dry naturally. Never use strong detergent, abrasive, caustic or solvent-based cleaners as these will void the warranty.

Visual Quality Assessment Standards

We recommend performing a visual quality check on installation. Carry out the quality check in natural daylight, not direct sunlight. Stand at a distance of 3 metres from the product to view the overall appearance. The product is acceptable if, taking into account the manufacturing process, none of the following is readily visible on the face of the product: marks or distortions associated with the manufacturing process, minor indentations, marks or scuffs on the surface, or paint or stain blemishes.

Measure

Measuring Guide: Manual Industrial Roller Shutters

The measuring, pricing, and ordering dimensions for any manual industrial roller shutter door are defined by the OPENING WIDTH and GUIDE HEIGHT. These dimensions exclude the guides for the width and the endplates for the height. Please refer to the measuring diagram below.

ORDERING WIDTH = Opening Width (Clear width between the guides)
ORDERING HEIGHT = Guide Height (Floor to top of guides, excluding endplates)

Critical Dimensions & Sideroom

The overall width at the high level (where the barrel and endplates are fitted) will be wider than the overall width across the guides. This additional width is required to accommodate the chain hoist mechanism.

  • Chain Hoist Side: The side featuring the manual chain hoist requires more sideroom than the non-geared side to allow for the gear assembly and hand chain operation.
  • Endplate Level: Ensure you check the specific endplate dimensions for your door size, as these extend beyond the guide width.

Endplates & Headroom

The size of the endplates (and hood, if fitted) will vary depending on the specific door model and the total height of the door, as taller doors create a larger curtain roll. Please ensure you have sufficient headroom above the ordering height to accommodate this.

  • Operation Access: The hand chain is located directly underneath the endplate on the geared side. Ensure there is clear access for the operator to stand and use the chain safely.

Face Fit - Behind the Opening (Recommended)

Most manual industrial roller shutter doors are installed to the inside face of the aperture. This "Face Fit" is the standard method for Traditional build industrial doors.

In a perfect scenario, your ordering dimensions (Daylight Opening) will be equal to the space between the guides and underneath the endplates.

Important Note on Hangdown: Be aware that ANY roller shutter will have a degree of ‘hangdown’ (the bottom slat visible in the opening) when fully raised. This means the final drive-through height will be slightly less than the Guide Height. This varies by model and curtain specification. If your drive-through height is critical, please speak to us first to determine the best height to order.

Reveal Fit - Between the Opening

It is possible to install manual roller shutters between the aperture (Reveal Fit), but this often requires additional steelwork or packing to accommodate the endplates and gear assembly properly. Unlike a Face Fit, the guides and mechanism will reduce the clear drive-through width.
