Samson Doors recently supplied and installed two SeceuroShield 38 extruded aluminium security shutters to protect a newly refurbished bar inside a cricket club in Bury St Edmunds, UK. The club needed a secure way to close off the serving areas when the bar was unmanned, without compromising the new interior.

The aim was to provide robust physical security with a neat, unobtrusive appearance when open, so the shutters would complement the upgraded bar and function room.

Design and installation
The refurbishment created a new bar with a main front counter and a side return at 90 degrees. Each shutter was individually manufactured to suit its opening so the boxes and guides sit neatly within the framing and remain as discreet as possible when raised.
One shutter secures the full width of the main serving counter while the second protects the side opening to provide continuous corner protection. Bar staff simply unlock the bottom slat, then lift the curtain with spring assistance; when closing, the curtain is pulled down and locked to secure stock, tills and equipment.
