Description

Made to Measure sizes are available, please call us to place an order or to discuss.

If you like an up and over garage door to look more traditional, this one may be just the right one for you! Coming in a range of sizes from 6 foot 6 inches wide and only 6 foot 4 inches high, right the way up to 10 foot wide and 7 foot high.

Giving the impression of being a set of side hinged doors even though it is one single panel that moves up and over, this is single skinned steel however it has a set of steel bracing bars across the back to give it more sturdiness. You can have the direction of the tongue and groove type lines running either horizontally or vertically, as is your desire, simply pick this in the options as you run through your selection.

You can choose to have this in a choice of 18 colours, all factory finished and identifiable by their RAL colour. White is the standard so no need to pay more, you choose if you’d like to upgrade to the other colours. This up and over door comes with a steel frame if you would like it and this would be factory fitted, which enables a quick and easy fit to the opening, by screwing through the pre drilled holes in the frame straight to your block or brickwork. The measurement of the panel is without frame so bear the frame size in mind if you add this on.

If you would like to you can also add on 4 point locking, however your door will come with two point slam latching and a lock, with a spare key. This is on an inclusive black T shaped handle.

If you’d like to add an electric garage door operator to this door, do choose the retractable gear, above the canopy gear, as this allows for that addition.

Application

 Ideal for all residential applications.

Specification

All the Fort steel one piece up and over doors have a strong steel sub chassis with internal bracing plates to ensure the best rigidity of the door panel.

We recommend that any steel up and over garage door is always ordered with a steel fixing sub frame for the best overall results and tolerances.
Timber frames are OK but the price and performance of the steel sub frame makes it not worth bothering with a timber sub frame, which needs treatment or painting once fitted.

Operating Mechanism
The doors are sold fitted with either a canopy or retractable operating mechanism, depending on your requirements.
In general terms the canopy door is used for the smaller single sizes and when the door is only to be manually operated. (Sizes up to 2438mm wide)

The retractable door mechanism is for larger sizes and when you want to have an electric operator fitted.

Handle and Locking
All the Fort up and over doors feature a cable operated locking latch system, operated via the central position handle
Option of 4 point locking for any manual operated door if required for extra security.

A black nylon handle is fitted as standard,  can order the door without a handle, but this should only be for when installing with an electric operator, which can then provide the locking when closed

Colours
This model has a laminate foil coating to present a woodgrain effect finish in either a Golden oak or Rosewood finish.

Other doors in this range are available in a choise of 18 standard low gloss powdercoat colour finishes.

Additional Information

It is a fundamental condition of this guarantee that the product has been installed, maintained and serviced correctly and is used solely for the purpose for which it was designed.

Incorrect installation, maintenance and service will invalidate this warranty.

The door must be kept in a clean condition and free from impact damage.

Fort Pull Handles S/S Care and Maintenance

Fort Up and Over garage doors come with pull handles to the front panel as standard.

The pull handles are made using grade 304 Stainless steel for use externally and internally in heavily sanitised areas such as kitchens and washrooms.

Like all steel, failure to keep the item clean can cause surface blemishes and what looks like a major product failure and rusting.

You will often find marks appearing in the winter when the roads have been gritted, salt on the surface are all steel products arch enemy.

If your pull bars develop small blemished areas during December, January and February in particular then you should wash them off using cold water and washing up liquid, you can use a cream cleaner like CIF rubbed lightly to remove the blemishes.

If you have them appear it means you have salt on the surface and need to increase the frequency of the door washdown.

Please remember all stainless steel can blemish even knives and forks in a dishwasher because salt is used as a scrubbing agent, wiping blemishes off with a cloth is standard practice and you should treat the door bars the same, clean and wipe regularly.

If you live close to the sea or estuary you should apply a light oil after washing once a month to keep the item clean and fresh.

Measure

Frame sizes do not allow for any fitting tolerances, please include if required.
