Description
Custom built, internal, fire rated, steel door with a 60 minute rating. Built for internal use and rated for internal fire protection, this steel fire door is made to measure and available in over 200 standard colours with optional vision panels and hardware to suit the application required.
The FireShield internal door is successfully tested to BS EN 1634-1:2008. The door can also offer acoustic protection if required. The door can also be built to higher security rated specification when required and used in domestic, commercial and industrial applications.
The door is available as either a single leaf or double leaf doorset in size up to 2200mm wide and 2960mm high. The main vision panels offered are in square or long vertical rectangular arrangements.
The door can be manufactured with various sizes of vision panel inserts with optional glazing for clear or frosted vision. Vision panels are used in building corridors, specifically escape routes and any instance where the door is potentially a barrier to fire such as a stairwell.
In many residential buildings the Fireshield door is an ideal solution over a timber door, with greater security and longevity. A key application would be between any kitchen area or integral garage leading into a main living area..Any multi storey property with 3 or more stories must have fire rated doors to all rooms along with fire protection from the main stairwell.
With well over 200 standard RAL colours and almost any colour available along with special finishes such as textured, metallic and woodgrain effects the FireShield door offers excellent aesthetic appeal in any scenario.

Door Leaf
• Anti-jemmy flange on the leading edge (square edged option available up to 60 mins)
• 1.5mm galvanised steel (upgrades: 2.0mm galvanised or 1.5mm stainless steel, 304/316)
• Weld-free panel construction prevents premature failure
• Mineral wool core with internal strengtheners.
Steel Sub Frame
* 90mm single rebate frame in 2.0mm galvanised steel (stainless steel option available)
• Custom sizes and alternative profiles (double rebated, face-fixed, ModuleX integral cloaking and more)
• Bolted corners for strength
• Threaded adjustors for easy site installation (16+ fixings). Optional plain fixing plates
• 3mm steel hinge brackets.
• Insulated frames available.
Tubular silicone rubber seals are bonded into the frame for the best thermal and acoustic barrier.
Hardware
As a fire rated door the door always has a fire rated specification door closer to keep the door closed at all times.
The door has stainless steel ball bearing hinges with security dog bolts as standard and there will be a minimum of 4 per door leaf. Upgrade options are available.
For the locking, handles and other furniture there is an extensive range to choose from to suit your on site requirements.
Transom or Side Panels
In larger openings we can offer panels to integrate with the FireShield doorset.
Fixed or even removable overpanels for occasional full access requirements.
Louvre panel cassettes are also possible.
Installation
Nearly all our steel doorsets are delivered completely factory assembled with all hardware and sub frames fitted ready for the easiest on site installation. The doorsets will be heavy and we can provide the weight before delivery if required but they will often need mechanical offloading or 2 or more people to handle on delivery and installation.

The frame and door sets are given 15 years guarantee subject to correct door installation and maintenance.
All our Ironmongery has a 1-year guarantee subject to correct usage and maintenance The Marine Grade PPC finish is guaranteed for a period of 10 years subject to the cleaning and maintenance programme.
At Metador the Standard Powdercoat finish is guaranteed for a period of 1 year subject to the cleaning and maintenance programme.
Guarantee Coverage:
Metador will repair or at our option replace any goods sold by Samson Doors to you which are, shown to our reasonable satisfaction to have become defective within the warranty period stated above from the date of purchase.
Where we have supplied a product with an internal defective component, we will only replace the defective component within the product.
‘Defective’ goods are those which under correct usage, do not function properly because of a fault in materials, workmanship or design.
We will replace any goods that are found to be defective on delivery, when reported within 3 working days of receiving the delivery. Photo graphic evidence must be provided showing the defective goods on the pallet that they were delivered on.
Guarantee Exclusions:
With Metador, there are some situations in which the guarantee does not cover, these include damage caused by:
Abuse, unsuitable or lack of maintenance and any other neglect that might occur.
Harmful cleaning solvents that may be used to clean the door
Incorrect installation of the door
Damage to the paint finish of the door which may include, scratches, washing and paint protection.
Use of parts that are installed that are not advised by Metador
External impacts including weather
Repairs or fitting that have been supported by other persons
Fair wear and tear
It should be noted that for any guarantees or warranties to be valid, the cleaning and maintenance regime must be documented and recorded, confirming the frequency of maintenance along with all methods and products used. This must be submitted for any claim to be considered.
Claims Procedure:
The customer must contact Samson Doors or Metador in writing within 3 working days of the discovery of the defect, specifying the nature of the claim and defect.
On request, the customer must return the defective product to Metador Ltd at their cost for inspection.

Measure
A steel doorset is always ordered by the OVERALL dimensions including the door leaf and outer sub fixing frame with no tolerances allowed for. Most people would generally allow 5mm tolerance all the way around the door, but it all depends on how square or true your aperture is on site. This is up to your judgement based on the aperture quality.
This would mean if your structural opening size is measured as 1000mm width and 2100mm height the door and frame ought to be 990mm wide and 2090mm high with the frame and any threshold included.
Always measure the top, middle and bottom of your aperture width and the left and right hand side for the height and if possible do a measure to make sure the opening is square as well..
Always use millimetres for measuring as this is how we relay back the ordering dimensions to you for checking and approving a drawing for your order.
We will always send a drawing for approval before manufacturing commences.
