DescriptionThe Samson FireGuard Range consists of three versions of high quality steel doorsets.
Each of these doors offer a certain number of time that the door can prevent the spread of fire in a building and their general performance is greater than equivalent timber fire doorsets.
The doors have been tested to BS 476 Parts 20 & 22 and BS EN 1634; their individual fire protection figures are as below:
FireGuard FD 60 - up to 1 hour
FireGuard FD 120 - up to 2 hours
FireGuard FD 240 - up to 4 hours
Each door is made to order for a perfect fit, an essential part of the fire protection.
A wide range of ironmongery can be specified depending on the environment and use within the building on a daily basis. Various door closers can be incorporated and there is a wide range of powdercoated colour finishes as well as laminate woodgrain finishes. Each side of the door panel can be a different finish if required and the outer frame can also match or is available in a different colour (powder coat finish only)
Fire Rated Steel Doors expand into their outer fixing sub frame frame under heat, sealing off the room where the fire has broken out preventing the spread of smoke and flames.
They play an important role in emergency fire procedures in any building and should be installed to help your building comply with fire safety legislation.
A steel doorset is a door, hardware and fixing frame preassembled in a factory environment to ensure complete continuity of final quality and specification. There is so much debate now about the actual integrity of a fire rated door which is assembled from various components, more often than not from different sources, that it won't be too long before a 'doorset' is the only way to assure 100% compliance. The risks involved are too high when a door is not built to an exacting standard to perform as originally tested and approved using all components from the same source to ensure a continuation of compliance.
ApplicationPrevention of fire spread internally to a building of any kind, domestic, industrial or commercial. With high quality powdercoat or laminate woodgrain finishes these doors are indistinguishable from timber doors in their appearance. Their performance however is greater generally.
Any UK building requiring a fire rated door.
To be clear, this isn’t a fire exit door. It is a fire rated doorset to prevent the spread of fire.
SpecificationTested to BS 476 Parts 20 & 22 and BS EN 1634.
The doors are certified for fire resistance both ways and are available latched or unlatched in 3 fire resistance classifications: 60 mins, 120 mins and 240 mins.
FireGuard internal fire doors can be fitted with a wide variety of mortice locks and latches, with all lock cases tested to BS EN 12209 and all lever furniture tested to BS EN 1906. These options also include mortice multi-point locking such as 3-point sashlocks, and access control mechanisms such as mechanical key pads, electric strikes and electro-magnetic locks in surface mounted or concealed mounting configurations.
We can also fit FireGuard with a range of panic hardware in order to comply with BS EN 1125 and BS EN 179. We can also fit outside access devices to provide practical, controlled and durable access to secure premises.

All warranties are subject to site maintenance being carried out at regular intervals as outlined in the O&M manual. Doors manufactured by Robust Doors in the UK.
MeasureA steel doorset is always ordered by the OVERALL dimensions including the door leaf and outer sub fixing frame with no tolerances allowed for. Most people would generally allow 5mm tolerance all the way around the door, but it all depends on how square or true your aperture is on site.
This means if your structural opening size is measured as 1000mm width and 2100mm height the door and frame ought to be 990mm wide and 2090mm high with the frame and any threshold included.
Always measure the top, middle and bottom of your aperture width and the left and right hand side for the height and if possible do a measure to make sure the opening is square as well.
Always use millimetres for measuring as this is how we relay back the ordering dimensions to you for checking and approving a drawing for your order.
The Robust Inna-Dor does have an adjustable fitting frame to take up to 30mm of tolerance into account which helps when the opening is not square.
