SeceuroDoor 75 Traditional EVO 20 Gauge Electric Tube Motor Roller Shutter
The 20 gauge version of the SeceuroDoor 75 Traditional EVO delivers a heavier duty steel curtain for commercial and industrial environments that require enhanced security and the ability to span wider openings. This model provides an exceptionally robust physical barrier while relying on a compact single phase 240V electric tube motor, which is housed neatly within the barrel to keep the operating mechanism protected and visually unobtrusive.
Because electric tube motors are engineered for low to medium daily use, this shutter is an incredibly cost effective solution for premises requiring roughly 10 to 20 operating cycles per day. It is a highly popular choice for securing factory workspaces, farm buildings, retail units and independent workshops. If your site involves continuous intensive operation or extremely high traffic, we advise looking at our heavier duty direct drive or chain drive motor options.
To ensure your premises remain accessible during a power cut, an internal manual override system is included as standard. A winding handle engages securely below the curtain on the motor side, allowing your staff to safely raise or lower the door by hand during an emergency.
EVO Upgrades for Faster Installation
The manufacturer has entirely overhauled the SeceuroDoor 75 EVO assembly process to guarantee a faster installation and a superior final finish. The practical engineering improvements include:
- Laser Cut End Plates: Non handed, universal plates make site alterations and post survey adjustments much simpler.
- Weld Free Assembly: By bolting the end plates instead of welding them, the protective zinc coating remains perfectly intact, drastically boosting long term corrosion resistance.
- Twin Hole Adaptor Plates: Upgraded adaptors provide dual fixing points to simplify any future motor modifications or maintenance.
- Strengthened Anti Climb Hood: Redesigned with additional folds for extra rigidity and extended by 2 mm on either side to better cover the end plates and prevent water ingress.
- Fitter Friendly Tolerances: Enhanced manufacturing precision significantly cuts down the time required to tune and align the door on site.
UK Manufacturing and Compliance
Every SeceuroDoor is made to measure in the UK within ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certified facilities, ensuring strict environmental and quality management standards. Custom sizing guarantees a perfect fit without the security compromises associated with cutting down stock sized shutters. The products are fully CE or UKCA marked to comply with all current European and UK regulations for commercial powered doors.
20 Gauge Curtain Construction
This specific specification utilises a 20 gauge single skin galvanised steel curtain built from the traditional 75 mm scrolled slat profile. This thicker steel gauge provides a noticeable increase in impact resistance compared to the lighter 22 gauge model, and allows the shutter to securely cover larger openings up to 7000 mm wide.
If your budget is tighter and the opening is smaller than 5000 mm, the lighter 22 gauge version is available. Conversely, an even stronger 18 gauge option can be quoted for extreme security requirements. We can also incorporate perforated or vision slat profiles into the curtain to provide up to 25 percent visibility when back lit, which is highly requested for retail display environments.
Colour Finishes
The standard industrial finish is hard wearing galvanised steel for the curtain and guides. However, we can powder coat the entire shutter system to almost any standard BS or RAL colour to match your corporate branding or existing building aesthetics. For particularly demanding environments, durable textured plastisol coated finishes are also available.
Motor and Operation Controls
The standard single phase 240V tube motor offers simple push button convenience and can be integrated with a wide variety of access control devices. Depending on your site risk assessment, safety features like hold to run controls or safety edge sensors must be specified to ensure safe daily operation.
For smaller doorways where an electrical supply is unavailable, a manual spring and lock alternative can be manufactured. This uses a counterbalanced torsion spring for easy manual lifting, though it is strictly limited to shutters under 2800 mm high due to the physical weight of the 20 gauge steel.

SeceuroDoor 75 Traditional EVO Specification
Traditional EVO Build Overview
This model features the newly upgraded Traditional EVO build specification. While it retains the robust steel guides, steel track angles and steel end plates that the traditional industrial design is known for, the EVO iteration introduces several advanced fitter friendly features. These include universal laser cut end plates with weld free bolted construction, twin hole motor adaptor plates for easier maintenance, and an enhanced anti climb hood design that provides superior water protection and rigidity.
These engineered upgrades deliver a faster, more precise installation and a much cleaner final finish. For full details on the differences between Traditional and Continental build specifications, click here.
Motor Control Options
The electric tube motor can be operated via two primary control methods, allowing you to select the best balance of convenience, safety and cost for your specific application:
1. Hold to Run (Deadman) Control – Standard
The most basic and cost effective method is an internal wall mounted push button station with hold to run logic. You stand and hold the button firmly for the duration of the opening or closing cycle. With this method, no safety edge or beam systems are legally required, keeping the costs to a minimum and electrical components simple.
Note: This method requires alternative access to the building (e.g. a personnel door) as the control is internal.
2. Remote Control Operation
For greater convenience, a wall mounted control panel with wireless remote control capability is available. This package typically includes:
- Control Panel: Wall mounted unit with integrated receiver.
- Handsets: Supplied with two remote control handsets as standard (additional handsets available on request).
- Safety Edge System: Wireless safety edge detection built into the bottom T rail section to instantly stop if an obstacle is met during operation.
- Additional Safety (Recommended): If the door opens onto a public pathway, road or high traffic area, we strongly recommend adding infra red photo beams to further enhance safety by detecting obstructions before contact is made.
Finish and Colour Options
The SeceuroDoor 75 Traditional EVO curtain is available in three primary finish types to suit aesthetic requirements and budget:
Galvanised Steel (Standard)
As standard and used by many customers, the steel curtain can be supplied in its natural galvanised steel finish. This is a robust, industrial finish used widely where function is the priority over colour matching, depending on the roller door location.
Powder Coated
For corporate branding or architectural blending, the curtain can be polyester powder coated to almost any RAL or BS colour. This process provides a durable, high quality finish that is applied to both sides of the slat, ensuring the door looks the same from the inside and outside.
Plastisol Coated
A high performance textured vinyl coating available in a range of standard colours. This finish offers excellent weather resistance and durability. Please note that Plastisol material typically features the coloured finish on the external face only, with a standard off white internal paint finish.
Custom Colour Options
We can offer the door in special colours other than those shown in our online shop options. You can also mix and match the guides, hood cover and curtain colours if required. Please email enquiries@samsondoors.co.uk or call 01933 448 850 for details and bespoke pricing.
Full installation details are provided with every door.
Professional Installation for Higher Specification Doors
While smaller, manually operated industrial roller doors can often be installed by competent builders, our higher specification and larger sized doors require specialist knowledge. High speed motors, advanced access controls, three phase operating systems, and certified security ratings demand precise setup and commissioning. For these advanced models, Samson Doors strongly recommends installation by trained, experienced professionals.
Incorrect fitting of a heavy, higher specification door can compromise its certified security rating, void the manufacturer warranty, and create serious safety risks in a working environment. A professional installation ensures that heavy duty side guides are securely fixed to the correct building structure, the curtain is perfectly tensioned, all complex safety devices are fully operational, and the motor is legally compliant with UK health and safety regulations.

Measuring Guide for SeceuroDoor 75 Traditional Roller Shutters
Understanding Ordering Dimensions
The measuring, pricing and ordering dimensions for any electric roller shutter door with an electric tube motor drive are based on the OVERALL WIDTH and OVERALL HEIGHT, including the guides for the width and endplates for the height. This measurement principle applies regardless of whether the door is a Continental or Traditional build arrangement.
Key Measurement Rules:
- OVERALL WIDTH (including guides) = Ordering Width
- OVERALL HEIGHT (including endplates) = Ordering Height
See diagram below for visual reference.
Traditional vs Continental Build Differences
The Traditional build roller door arrangement uses heavier duty steel guides with steel angle sections in the setup, whereas the Continental build roller doors use aluminium guides. Traditional build doors can generally accommodate larger sizes and offer more adaptation options with the guides and track fixing angles, particularly useful when dealing with more challenging installation scenarios.
Both door build types have the guides, endplate and optional roll hood cover fitted within the dimensions of the external endplate dimensions.
Important Height Considerations
The endplate and hood cover size will vary depending on the height of the door, so please be aware to check the drive-through height and endplate size if your dimensions are critical. Always allow for the physical size of the rolled curtain and endplate assembly when calculating available headroom.
Installation Methods
Face Fit - Behind the Opening
Most roller shutter doors are installed to the inside face of the aperture. In a perfect scenario, your daylight opening dimensions are the space between the guides and underneath the endplate dimensions. However, it is important to note that any roller shutter will always have a 'hang down' when opened fully, making the final drive-through height slightly less than the height of the guides.
This hang down is normal and varies on different models depending on the curtain specification and roll size. If your opening drive-through height is critical, please speak to us first to determine the best height to order for your specific application.
Reveal Fit - Between the Opening
Some roller shutter doors are installed between the aperture opening (reveal fit), and this is where the electric tube motor roller door arrangement works particularly well, as all components are positioned inboard from the ordering dimensions, creating a neat flush finish.
You can install any roller shutter door between an opening, but please note that industrial motor-driven models may require some additional steelwork or sub-framing to make them fit between the reveal properly and securely.
