Measuring Guidance

Accurately measuring your window is the most critical step when ordering your SeceuroGuard 1000 Medium Window Security Grille. We always recommend using a sturdy metal tape measure rather than a flexible cloth one to ensure precise dimensions.

Reveal Fit (Inside the Window Recess)

• Width: Measure the width of your window recess at the top, the middle, and the bottom. Take the smallest of these three measurements and deduct 10mm to allow for a comfortable fitting tolerance.
• Height: Measure the height of the recess at the left side, the centre, and the right side. Take the smallest of these three measurements and deduct 10mm for your fitting tolerance.

Face Fit (Outside the Window Recess)

• Width: Measure the width of the structural opening and add a minimum of 50mm to each side (100mm total) to allow the framework to fix securely to the solid wall face. If you want the grille to clear the window entirely when open, you will need to add the 15% bunch size to your width.
• Height: Measure the height of the opening and add a minimum of 50mm to the top and 50mm to the bottom to allow for the top and bottom track fixings plus any extra dimensions for a reinforcement section.

Important Ordering Notes

• Overall Dimensions: Always order by the Overall Width and Overall Height. This measurement must include the outer framework and the tracks, not just the sliding lattice.
• Sash Configuration: Decide whether a single sash (stacking to one side) or a double sash (splitting in the middle and stacking evenly to both sides) works best for your window layout and access needs.
