Before starting, verify your opening dimensions match the order specifications and check that the wall substrate offers a strong load bearing capacity. The SeceuroGuard system weighs 19kg per square metre, making a secure fixing for the top track absolutely essential. Gather your tools, including a high quality spirit level, an electric drill, and the appropriate heavy duty fixings for your masonry type.

Framework and Levelling

Unpack the framework components and position the top track within the window reveal using temporary supports. Use your spirit level to ensure perfect horizontal alignment across the entire width, as any gradient will compromise the smooth slide operation. Taking Your Measurements

• Width: Measure the width of your window recess at the top, the middle, and the bottom. Take the smallest of these three measurements and deduct 10mm to allow for a comfortable fitting tolerance. This final dimension is your ordering width.
• Height: Measure the height of the recess at the left side, the centre, and the right side. Take the smallest of these three measurements and deduct 10mm for your fitting tolerance. This final dimension is your ordering height.

Important Ordering Notes

• Overall Dimensions: You must always order by the Overall Width and Overall Height. This measurement includes the outer framework and the top and bottom tracks, not just the sliding lattice.
• Maximum Sizes: This specific small window configuration can be manufactured up to a maximum of 1500mm wide and 1600mm high.
• Locking System Heights: If your window requires a grille under 1000mm in height, it can only be manufactured with a standard two point locking system. Grilles ordered over 1000mm in height will easily accommodate the upgraded four point locking system.
• Bunch Size Clearances: When the grille is fully retracted and unlocked, the stacked lattice will take up roughly 15% of the total grille width. Keep this in mind if you require maximum light or completely unobstructed glass visibility through your window.
• Checking for Obstructions: Before finalising your measurements, thoroughly check your window sill and the recess for any protruding window handles, tiles, or trims that might interfere with the framework or the sliding operation.
