The SeceuroGuard 1001 is an insurance approved retractable security grille, independently tested to LPS 1175 Security Rating 1. For many commercial premises across the UK, there is a growing need for security products that are not only visually effective but also properly tested and certified to recognised standards. Choosing an approved system can help remove uncertainty when specifying physical security, especially where insurers, surveyors or risk assessors expect evidence of tested protection.
Manufactured in made to measure sizes, the SeceuroGuard 1001 is designed to provide discreet yet dependable security for doors, windows and internal openings in shops, offices, schools, reception areas and other commercial environments, as well as domestic properties. It is ideal where a strong physical barrier is required without blocking light, visibility or ventilation.
The lattice is available in either the traditional 'X' pattern or the softer 'S' lattice design, both offered at the same price to suit different property styles and internal finishes.
Single sash and double sash options are available, with a hinged aside option possible depending on the opening size and installation requirements.
For projects where appearance matters just as much as protection, the SeceuroGuard 1001 is offered in 27 standard colours to complement a wide range of commercial and domestic settings. Special colour finishes are also available on request.
With smooth operation, minimal maintenance requirements and a compact retractable design, the SeceuroGuard 1001 is well suited to sites needing practical day-to-day security without a heavy industrial appearance.

The SeceuroGuard 1001 is a versatile retractable security grille designed for both domestic and commercial applications, offering dependable protection for doors, windows and other vulnerable openings.
For Residential Properties
Combining elegant styling with steel strength, the SeceuroGuard 1001 is an excellent choice for homeowners seeking a higher level of security without creating a harsh or intrusive appearance.
Ideal for patio doors, French doors and ground floor windows, it helps protect against intrusion while still allowing valuable natural light into the home. The grille can also be left locked in place with the doors or windows open behind it, allowing ventilation without compromising security.
When not required, the retractable grille stacks neatly to the side and remains surprisingly unobtrusive. Installed within the reveal or onto the surrounding frame, it can often be positioned discreetly behind curtains, while a pelmet may be used to conceal the top track for a more integrated appearance.
For greater access flexibility, the system can be specified with a hinge-aside option, allowing the stacked sash to swing clear of the opening. This is particularly useful for French doors and similar access points where an unobstructed opening is preferred.
Low maintenance and made to measure, the SeceuroGuard 1001 is available in a wide range of powder coated finishes to complement the interior or exterior setting, with the option of decorative lattice styling for a softer visual effect.
For Commercial Properties
The SeceuroGuard 1001 is equally well suited to commercial premises where a visible physical barrier is required without sacrificing light, visibility or everyday usability.
It is ideal for offices, schools, reception areas, internal glazed screens, retail premises and other commercial buildings where vulnerable doors and windows need a practical yet professional security solution. When not in use, the grille retracts neatly to the side of the opening, helping maintain a clean and welcoming environment.
Manufactured from robust steel components and designed for regular operation, the SeceuroGuard 1001 provides a strong barrier against unauthorised access while remaining quick and easy to open and close. Its retractable design makes it particularly suitable for sites that need security outside working hours but open access during the day.
Available in a wide choice of colours, the grille can be specified to coordinate with corporate branding, internal finishes or architectural details. The result is a security product that delivers strong protection while still presenting a smart and professional appearance.
The SeceuroGuard 1001 is an insurance approved retractable security grille designed for projects where independently tested protection is a key requirement.
Tested to LPS 1175 Security Rating 1, the SeceuroGuard 1001 provides added confidence for specifiers, property owners and facility managers seeking a recognised level of physical security. It is particularly well suited to commercial premises, public buildings and higher risk domestic applications where a tested and certified product may be preferred to help satisfy security expectations and insurance requirements.
Manufactured in made to measure sizes up to 6000mm wide and 3000mm high, the SeceuroGuard 1001 is a highly versatile security grille suitable for doors, windows, screens, internal openings and many other vulnerable access points. Its retractable design allows the opening to remain clear when the grille is not required, while still delivering a strong visible deterrent and dependable physical barrier when locked in place.

The Seceuroguard is ordered as the overall width and height including the fixing posts, top and bottom track regardless of whether it is fitting inbetween or on the face of a door or window opening. The stack size when the gate is fully open will obviously depend on the ordering width and there is a table to calculate this in the technical PDF.
1001 Important Installation Criteria

SeceuroGuard Warranty & Manufacturer Guarantee
When you purchase a SeceuroGuard retractable security grille from Samson Doors, you are investing in a premium, UK-manufactured physical security product designed for long-lasting durability. To give you complete peace of mind, all SeceuroGuard 1000 and SeceuroGuard 1001 security grilles are backed by a comprehensive manufacturer guarantee from SWS UK.
What is Covered?
- 2 Year Comprehensive Warranty: Every SeceuroGuard 1000 grille comes with a standard 2 year manufacturer guarantee covering all parts against defects in material or workmanship, provided the grille is correctly installed, operated, and maintained.
- Powder Coating & Finish: The high quality galvanised steel and standard powder coated finishes are highly durable. Please note that installations in heavily corrosive environments (such as within close proximity to the coast) may require special marine-grade finishes to maintain warranty coverage against severe flaking.
- Locking Mechanisms: The multi point locking systems (both 2 point and 4 point) are fully covered under the 2 year guarantee against mechanical manufacturing defects.
Samson Doors Installation Guarantee
If you choose to have your SeceuroGuard grille professionally installed by the Samson Doors team, we guarantee our installation workmanship for 12 months from the date of completion. This ensures your grille operates smoothly and complies exactly with its intended security rating (such as the LPS 1175 SR1 rating on the SeceuroGuard 1001 model).
Conditions of the Warranty
To ensure your 2 year SWS warranty remains valid, please adhere to the following conditions:
- Proper Maintenance: The grille must be subjected to regular, basic maintenance. This includes keeping the bottom running tracks clear of debris, dirt, and stones, and periodically lubricating the locking mechanisms and running wheels with a silicone-based spray (do not use heavy grease).
- Correct Usage: The warranty does not cover damage caused by misuse, forceful impact, attempted break-ins, or vandalism.
- Supply-Only Installations: If you are purchasing the grille on a "supply-only" basis, the warranty is strictly a parts-only guarantee. SWS UK and Samson Doors cannot be held liable for operational faults or structural weaknesses resulting from incorrect third-party installation. If the grille is an insurance approved model (1001), it must be installed strictly according to the manufacturer's guidelines to maintain its LPS 1175 certification.

How to Measure for SeceuroGuard 1001 Retractable Security Grilles
Accurate measuring is one of the most important steps when ordering a made to measure retractable security grille. Always use a rigid metal tape measure rather than a cloth tape, take all dimensions in millimetres, and check the surrounding area for skirting boards, coving, projecting handles, cills or any other obstructions that could interfere with the tracks, locking post or grille operation.
1. Order by Overall Size
Important: SeceuroGuard 1001 grilles are ordered by their overall width and overall height. This means the dimensions you provide should be the full manufactured size of the product, including the outer framework and tracks, not just the expandable grille curtain.
2. Measuring for a Reveal Fit
A reveal fit means the grille is fitted within the structural opening of the door or window reveal.
- Measure the width at the top, middle and bottom of the opening.
- Measure the height at the left, centre and right.
- Always use the smallest width and the smallest height, as openings are rarely perfectly square.
- Allow a fitting tolerance by deducting approximately 5mm to 10mm from the smallest measured opening size to help ensure the grille can be installed correctly without binding tightly in the reveal.
Reveal fitting is often the neatest option for windows and internal openings, especially where a more discreet appearance is preferred.
3. Measuring for a Face Fit
A face fit means the grille is fixed onto the wall face around the opening rather than inside the recess. Although this is not always the most common position for collapsible grilles, it can be very useful where you want to maximise the clear opening width for a doorway or window when the grille is retracted.
For a face fit, the final ordered size will usually need to be larger than the structural opening itself.
- Measure the structural opening width and height first.
- Allow sufficient overlap for the top and bottom tracks and the side framework.
- Allow for the locking post on the closing side.
- Allow approximately 15% of the total order width for the bunched sash when the grille is fully open.
- If you want the stacked grille to clear the glazed area or doorway as much as possible, include the bunch size allowance when calculating the final overall width.
A SeceuroGuard 1001 can still be installed as a face-fit grille and remain compliant with its SR1-rated installation requirements, provided it is fitted in accordance with the approved fixing criteria.
4. Certified Installation Criteria
Where the SeceuroGuard 1001 is being specified for its insurance approved LPS 1175 SR1 rating, the validity of the certification depends on the grille being installed in accordance with the relevant fitting requirements.
- Reveal or face installation is permitted.
- Minimum fixing distance from the edge of the reveal: 50mm.
- Maximum fixing distance from any corner: 100mm.
- Maximum distance between fixings: 400mm.
- All fixing heads must be spoiled after installation.
5. Bunch Sizes and Locking Options
The amount of space taken up by the bunched sash is especially important on face-fitted grilles and doorways where maximum clear access is required. As a general guide, the stacked sash will require approximately 15% of the overall grille width when fully retracted.
Please note: The upgraded 4-point locking system requires a minimum ordered height of 1000mm. Where the grille height is below 1000mm, the SeceuroGuard 1001 is available with a 2-point locking system only.
